Hey folks,

I am trying to find some speaker stands for our Tour X tops. They weigh in at around 66 lbs each.

What would be the best stands to use for these speakers? We were looking at the Ultimate Supports with the built in air piston. The TH-110b I think.

I would go for the ones Steve suggested, they are lightweight and strong. They would allow you to crank those babies up with no problem. I use the Ultimate Telelocks and while I love them, my FBT's only weigh 36 lbs. I sure wouldn't want to deal with a 66 lb cab on there; no thanks. The piston ones may be OK but I would still go with the Hercules.

We use frankenstands for our JBL EONs and are very happy with them. Easy up and Easy Down. I've heard the ultimate supports use cheap parts and can break pretty easily.

I've used Ultimate support stands for 20+ yrs. I have never had one break or fail me.

I'm talking about the air powered stands. I heard the lock on the new ones are made of some cheap plastic. and the club I used to spin at had the telelock ones and a few of them broke.

I had a pair now just not even make it 2 years the plasic collar on the bottom portion straight up broke. I keep and transport them in a bag and they are the only thing in my back seat on the floor. It looks like I will be looking for other options in my next stand purchase.

Check out "On Stage" crank handle stands. I've had good luck with them...."they crank" :)

I am gonna try calling Ben on Tuesday to get his take on what stands to get. It seems like there are a bunch of models on the market.

I really like the look of those K&M Stands. They look really well built. Although the $299 price might be a deal breaker.

Not when you NEVER have to buy another stand EVER again.

Very true, I am going to call Frankenstand on Tuesday. For the price they seem to have the best construction in my price range. I can get 2 stands & case for the price of the 1 K&M stand. (Not knocking K&M, just comparing the hurt in my wallet)
