Whats your opinion on mini moving heads?

What are your thoughts on the mini moving heads like Chauvet Min Spot? Is a 15w led they bright enough? I cannot find any videos of the gobo being shot across a large room, every video I see is a living room or small bedroom with the lights almost completely black. Most of my venues are not large and I think a large moving head would be overkill.

Anyone here use a mini moving head(of any brand/model)?


My real fear is buying these and comparing them to the home party lights Spencers Gifts at most malls sell.

Worth getting or not?

I have 2 mini moves. They are not the Chauvet brand, but are the same as. I am happy with the performance.We do small to medium venues. They are way better then Spencers Gift lights!

I think they are a great choice to get started into moving heads. Sorry I don't have any video. I used them at a Homecoming dance with over 200 students, and they did great.

How do you like to mount yours? I am thinking for some gigs just setting them on top of speakers. But I would like to do the speaker stand with skrim king cover with a nice par can to light em up.

When he mentioned mini moves, I did a search and found a light that looked liked the Coaster. The mini moves were running around the $300 a pair.

No not cheaplights.com just straight from the manufactuer itself. You can find the same deal buy searching on ebay and can find them for $150.

If you have seen one 15w mini moving head spot, you have seen them all. Just like the blizzard puck is no different from the flat par pro from eternal lighting.....hint hint

Obviously, the price is right but how do these stack up against more powerful units? I just saw the Chauvet Qspot260 last week and was blown away. Can these mini-spots use a gobo?
