It appears to be spam gleaned off the ODJT list. I'm not blaming Dan for this, because sh*t happens. I just want to warn you all that this is likely a scam - don't click the links!

Actually no it isn't.... Dan recently turned OKJT over to the new forum General-Forums..... when OKJT opened anyone who had posted here had their accounts mirrored to OKJT and have now carried over to the new forum home for the now closed OKJT.

While it's not spam for those that didn't know this... it may seem that way. Dan trusts the site so, so do I.

It is legitimate. I'm sorry about that Ducky. Anyone who posted in the Karaoke forum here had their accounts copied over to OKJT. When I moved OKJT off my plate and folded it into my buddy's board those accounts went with it.

I had posted at OKJT that I would honor deletion requests before handing over the database. I didn't think to post it here because I'd offered not to copy anyone's account who didn't want it before splitting off OKJT.

If you like I'd be happy to contact the new owner and ask him to remove your account.

Might as well throw me into the mix as well Dan...or maybe we should start a thread asking if anyone wants to be removed from the Karaoke stuff.
 
Add me to the list. I think I went there on day 1 just because and that is it.
 
I got the email too (then again, I knew it was coming, because I read Danno's posts) :)


It was buried under the 173 emails I woke up to, regarding Dating Women Over 50, Diabetics Anonymous, Orchard Bank Credit Card, NewEgg, Omaha Steaks, and 7 from Buy.Com... :sqlaugh:

I haven't heard from Scott's buddy in Burundi (or wherever) yet, although that will undoubtedly come in at some point during the day... :D


I get thousands of spams daily, and none of them come from my involvement here -- Danno is very good about that :)



BTW, I read the spam I get when the boards are slow -- keeps me amused... :yoBiggrin:

While some people may trust the General-Forums site, whoever decided it would be okay to "mirror" accounts made a bad decision. Please get my account removed as well, ASAP.

Sending the aforementioned email without any information on how to opt out was also a bad idea.

The users in post 13 and 14 have been deleted from the General Forums.

PS.. I'd like to mention our site has great ranking in search engines, if you're trying to promote your own site or service in your sig, those links will be deleted if your account is deleted.

It was all above board with notifications posts here 6 months ago. A notice was also posted on OKJT last week. Both times I said any deletion requests would be honored. I'm sorry if you didn't read it but I cannot help that.

I could have done better by sending an email notice before handing off the database. If there ever is a next time that's what will happen.
