If I may offer a thought, even though I don't do monograms. What about the more elegant approach, almost wedding-like? After all, this is a prom, which at least in our area is a formal event...not to mention one of the biggest nights for a teenager.

Wanted to share some shots of how this turned out. The prom was a huge success. Roughly 300 kids and they upgrade to a full lighting package (slimp56, independent, color-change mode) last week. In addition, we supplied a photobooth, which was also a hit. At the end of the night the principal told me "Wow, I've never seen one where they danced the whole night like this." Here's the final product:

To start off the evening, I replicated the floor gobo to the "screen". I ended up using the wall to project live-pics, as I could really spread the image larger.

Around 300 in attendance

Yea, had to punch up the intensity a bit to make it show up on that floor.

What media player are you using? I found that some of the cheaper models don't display color the best. I see it's a darker floor as well. I always have a few options for that, with different (more bold) fonts or fudge with the fonts by making them smaller and leaving the background image larger; it allows you to throw it further without pixelation of the font. Sometimes, it can't be helped and I would have went to the wall before displaying that nasty box. Like this past Saturday, they had an awful wood dance floor and I couldn't get the POP I wanted for the gobo to show, so I opted to do above the head table.
