I was at a party this past Saturday where they had 4 K subs they were using. They had 2 and 2 stacked on top of each other and a pole coming out of the sub to mount a QSC speaker on top. Those subs rocked. I didn't do what I normally do and that is put my ear right to the sub to hear them that way. Damn I want at least a pair of those subs.

Please don't get me wrong my Yamaha DSR 118'S are very nice but the K subs blow mine out the water. The base on those subs were super tight! I would trade off my Yamaha subs for the K series in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!! Too bad I don't have the capital to get them with the matching tops. I still have a QSC 2450 amp and it's awesome. QSC makes some great stuff. They easily beat the new Cerwin Vega garbage being made today. I can't say enough about those subs. The tops aren't bad either. Can somebody on here make the QSC K series subs and tops my Christmas present this year pretty please with sugar on top?:D

The K-subs are not generally considered a great sub .. just a very good bass radiator. They work well as a low bass component for the smaller K boxes (K8 and K10), but don't go as low as or hit as hard as the KW118, which is a better fit for the K12, KW122 and KW152.

I am surprised you think they are better than your DSR118.

I have the KW181's a pair of them I also have the older HPR181's the HPR is a much better sub

Yes .. but at a cost of about 40 extra pounds !! You young'uns might be able to deal with it, but my back can't. The KW181 is about my limit.

I can't ever remember lifting mine they roll out of the trailer, into the venue, tilt them back into position put in a pole, place DXR10 on top of pole, raise pole, done easy I'm 43 I try to do as little strenuous work as possible.

Mine weigh 150lbs but are on Tilt wheels with handles. I have a ramp that goes right to the side door of the van. I can lift them if necessary. You have to remember to have the correct vehicle for the Job. Cars were made for people transport. Trailers, Pickups, Trucks and Vans are more appropriate for transporting gear!

I don't use a trailer, so they need to go vertical into the back of my Honda Pilot. My Yorkville Unity subs are tall enough to be able to tilt in and slide, but too heavy for me at every venue (tough going down/up stairs with the built in casters). The QSC KW subs seem to be light enough to lift and carry occasionally and good enough to not consider anything larger (for me).

+1... That 40 lbs. of lighter weight, coupled with the way QSC does limiting on the K and KW series = lesser in the overall sound performance department.

BUT... I did hate moving those HPR's in my SUV. I had to get a foldable doggie platform to load them in/out. The HPRs were too heavy, wide and low.
