Wedding Location:Lighthouse Pointe-St. Ignace, Michigan

What a beautiful spot to have a wedding!!! Right on the shore of Lake Michigan in the beautiful Upper Peninsula.

Lighthouse Pointe gets it's name because it's right across the water from St. Helena Island. This one was taken from a roadside park on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.

St. Helena Lighthouse is straight out from the pier

And a quick turn to the left on the pier reveals the Mackinac Bridge.

Bagpiper in full effect. I only played the pocessional and recessional and provided mics.

Once the wedding party went down the aisle the bride arrived in this, to the crowd collectively saying "Oh my God". It was a very cool surprise.

Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon?

It was a great night. They wanted me to play an hour extra, but I had to decline since I had to be up at 8:30 on Sunday for another wedding.

Nice pics Jay! I was curious as to where my car was.

lol

I also had two weddings this weekend. The first at Crooked creek (2.5 hours from home) on Saturday (I hate the detour before Kalkaska, Jay!) and the second on Sunday in Charlevoix at the Weathervane. Long weekend, then work on Monday at 6 am.

And Sunday's Wedding.

Wedding Location: Crooked Creek Ranch-Lake Leelanau, Michigan

A pretty nice venue. The reception was held in a restored barn. It was very hot in the sun, but tolerable in the shade.

Ceremony location on the shore of Lake Leelanau.

I was set up on the landing for stairs that go to the hayloft/balcony. Since it was a small wedding (60ish guests) only the main floor was used. There aren't too many venues in Northern Michigan with a balcony right over the dancefloor so I took advantage of it for my pics.

Father/Daughter dance. The barn has 2 or 3 inch gaps between the boards so it was kind of tricky lighting wise. I was trying to get a shot where the light hightlighted her eyes...this is the closest I got.

For this shot, the Groom had taken a video camera upstairs and was trying to get everyone to look up. I grabbed my camera and wireless mic and asked everyone to look up and wave to him.

Congrats on both events, Mr. Jay!

Looked like beautiful weather along with some awesome scenery.

Very nice pics. Always enjoy seeing your stuff, especially your outdoor shooting.

Loved the "aerial" view in the barn. Very cool perspective.

Hope you don't mind, but I cropped the bagpiper.....I won't use it, I just wanted to see what it looked like with a tighter crop...

I'm sorry, I won't do it again....

It does look better cropped. I just did some quick resizes with Infranview for ODJT. When I add these to my website I'll get more creative.

I also really like picture #4 in the first set.

It's very neat that the subdued colors are highlighted by the sun shining on the waves.

NOT TRYING TO BE A TOPPER but I had three events this weekend and I sold a light setup on all three. The events from this weekend were sold some time ago I just did'nt pay attention to the fact I had sold lights on all three with no roadie :sqerr: I'm so sore it hurts to poop.
