This was my first (and 2nd) try at posting items for sale on ODJT. I received several views, but no replies or responses. What did I do wrong, or what can I do better?

Thanks! (original post below)

Chauvet Oceana - $100

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only used once. Perfect condition. PM if you want to see photos of the actual item. Not sure how much shipping would be. It weighs 13 lbs.

Thanks!

Thank you for your comments, Tunes Guy. I am trying to be as fair as possible on pricing. I would go lower if the items were old and used but in this case one is brand new, never used and the other has been used only once.

You will discover...

...that most everyone here has been around the block a few times. Retail prices don't interest any of us. While your asking price is $49 below retail, there are vender's here who give very good prices on new items.

Even e-bay has real cheap DJ equipment if one is vigilant and willing to wait. I would suggest that you start your asking price at $69. I suspect you'll sell it for that, or a bit more.

It's hard with selling used gear... I always look at the posts, and I like that light you have for sale... I don't really need much in the way of lightiong so for me it's gotta be a hella deal...

Also with shipping to Maui,,, well it's gotta be a stupid good deal! LOL

It is hard when you have something almost new like what you have, because a lot of DJ's figure, for just a few bucks more, they can buy it new and have the option if anything goes wrong with iit to call the seller and yell at them,,, as when we buy from a private person (not saying you are private, but that is a whole other thread! LOL) it is usually "as is"

Even if something goes wrong in the shipping most private sellers wont do anything.

I know because I have sold A LOT of gear in my time and honestly, as soon as you buy something, it is worth about 1/2 of what you paid for it. Unless it is some way way special hard to find item.

That is why so many DJ's still have their police beacons in their garage... it's not worth selling...

Timing is also important. I bought one of these not all that long ago. If I hadn't, your offering would have been gone in seconds.

i have the same opinion as the tunes guy i think your priceings pretty reasonable but i just didnt have any real intrest in it

And some of us still have them on the road :sqwink:
