First impressions:

- Holy Sh-ite; they're small and light. I'm thinking: "No way these little boxes are gooing to provide enough sound...."

Also noted.....no gain control (just volume), no bass, mid, treble controls. No ground lift switch.

So for kicks, I hook them up..sans (no) sub.....Man! They get loud and clear for little boxes.

On another board, a dj mentioned he used these stand alone for small gigs.....For dinner...yes, ceremonies...yes, reception dances....Hmmm! not so sure.

Most songs sounded Great..clear crisp highs and mids.....clean bass; however as expected on songs such as Umbrella, Hips don't lie. Sexyback.....you don't hear feel that low bass that I hear when running my 6A's standalone...

They weren't distorting or clipping....They just weren't putting out that ooomph....which again I wasn't expecting....Perhaps I'm being critical, being a DJ. I suspect to the average guest won't notice any lack of oomph.....

Again though, these boxes on their own get loud...without getting harsh or distorted...
By themselves 9/10

So I hook up the sub and set the x-over at 100hz.... cue up the way I Are......

Holy Sweet Mother !!!!!! does this set up sound frickin' nice... The sub is taking all the low end...the tops are crankin' and crystal clear....Sounds amazing.....Far better with the 310A's versus the Maxx6A's...with the sub...

put a second 705AS sub , I figure you could do some pretty big rooms...

I find as well the set up, visually looks nice.....No starballs on these boxes though....

Super pleased...happier when the bags arrive from audiopyle....

Steve,

Have you looked into the Matrix systems? The 1000v2 and the 2000?

I use the 2000 and I can comfortably do a 200 person hall, with pleanty of upmh! :sqwink:

Groovielou

I just ordered this exact set up (a pair of 310A's with the matching 15" sub). I was originally going to go with the ART 312A, except when looking at the specs between the 310A and the 312A, things appeared fairly identical. So, I decided to go with the 310A's for the weight savings.

I expect the set up to be here within the next week or two. I can't wait to try them out!

Did you get your setup? how you like and have you been able to use it, also how many people have you covered with this?

Easily...I think one sub would do. As Steve mentioned; with weddings ; for the most part you have a small dance floor. You're not looking to bombard the whole room with dance floor volume.

If I were doing a 300-350 person wedding, in a typical room, I probably wouldn't change a thing; again I'm only interested in the dance floor.

These boxes go as loud as most 15" boxes. Where they suffer is the ability to "oomph" like a 15" box.....you let the sub do that.

In the 30 years I've been at this, I can't remember a time I've been asked to "turn it up"

You'll be pleased. Cross them over at 100hz.....
