........ so, none of these are in order, and only what I remember playing.... then I finished with "Take Your Drunken Ass Home", by Big Al Carson..... which the idea came from a playlist here on ODJT a while back.

The ones highlighted in RED are the ones that absolutely kicked butt!

BTW, if you think that some of these are off the wall, well, the bride and I agreed in advance that I could sort of play non cookie cutter stuff....

Looks like a fun playlist. :) What, no Snoop Dog, T-Pain or Akon...???? :D :D

Kudos to you and the Bride for "being creative"...

Yeah, I didn't even play Rasputin! :sqlaugh:

Which to this day, I don't think anybody in Philly even knows what it is!

Oh, and I played "Fighting on the Same Side"... Hooters... ORIGINAL, and best version. I mixed it with Hazard and Conwell.... Did a 3 song best of Philly set... I was complimented on that twice.

One other song I played, and have NEVER played in public was "No Woman No Cry" .... Bob Marley. Those who liked it, really liked it. But those who did not like it seemed to really NOT like it.

LOL, we had a woman come up last night and asked for Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" which ended up tanking the dance floor temporarily...

Believe it or not we had a request for the Beatles "Obli-Di Obli-Da" (sp?) late in the evening and it actually went over quite well! :)

UUuuhhhmmm Johnny is going to haunt you at night :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I always laugh when he mentions it as a must play..... I swear, I couldn't tell you what that song sounds like for $100.... and once I even asked the other 2 DJ's I know here if they knew it... Never heard of it either.

I almost forgot! I actually played "Ain't Nuthin But a House Party"!

2/3 of the floor cleared, but the drunk GUYS absolutely loved it... I think that is what you need for this song... drunk guys! :sqeek::sqlaugh:

Oh, and probably the last one I can / will remember..... and only because it surprised the heck out of me when it absolutely filled the floor.... Ice Ice Baby!

hahah speaking of songs you think will tank...

I recently played Disco Duck by mistake wanted to play Car Wash but somehow my files got messed up in Ots DJ and it got confused... well it didn't fill the dance floor but there were a lot of people smiling and tapping their feet to the song... you have to understand this wasn't a party crowd but they knew what they liked and a lot of people commented basically saying "Man, I haven't heard that in a long time... loved it"

Um no. This homey don't play that game.

hey Chuck I too play Rasputin at almost evewry event and fill the floor with it. Quite funny watching non KGB attempting to do the Bolshoi Review. Ditto on Brass Monkey and Ice ICe Baby. Also I do most often a Vancouver set or Canadian set which always surprises the crowd. Especially when playing some of the locals or Kim Mitchell.
