Just look through WikiLeaks .. I'm sure it's among Hillary's "lost" email information.
Requirements seem to vary, depending on where you live, or your business is located.
When I lived in Virginia DJs weren't required to obtain business licenses. We were in the same class as Boy Scout groups, etc.
In Delaware, DJ companies are supposed to have a state biz license. If you live within the city or town limits, or your business location is there you're supposed to have a city biz license as well.
Last I heard, anyone may obtain a Delaware biz license, anywhere in the country. You don't have to live here nor does your company have to be located here.

What's the penalty for not registering?
You can get a Delaware business license anywhere in North America. For some reason it's cheaper and there are tax advantages to incorporating in Delaware
And many fortune 500 companies hare incorporated in Delaware
I did some more resarch, because I pulled a rookie mistake when I did my research and only looked at the state level, ignoring the city level, utlizing a small business resource website I found , put in all of the revlent info, selected what cities I would perfrom services in, and it gave me list of each city requirement's , some require a business license, so require a TPT license

It does not matter what cities/towns you perform the DJ service in - the requirements (if any) would only apply to the city/town in which you reside (headquarters or physical shop/office location.)

Nothing business license in NY (except for NYC) for Mobile DJ, but you will need a sales tax number to submit quarterly or annual sales tax revenues from the add-ons such a uplights, photobooths, chocolate fountains and any other provided "stuff" that might fall under equipment rental categories.
