    19 inch rack mount controller

I keep throwing money at my Denon MC6000mkII with repairs an preventative maintenance. I love it that much. And yes, a big reason why is it fits in the case I prefer to use. A case that has other 19" rack gear in it. All pre-wired. My plan is to get another 5 years out of it. That may be a...

Even Yamaha is in the battery powered PA game! StagePass 200 BT Looks Unique!

That may be. As stated, I do not own the others. But several review sites mentioned this as a 'bonus'. Regardless, I love this little thing. I use it for ceremonies and as a satellite speaker for patios, large rooms, etc..

Even Yamaha is in the battery powered PA game! StagePass 200 BT Looks Unique!

I do. And I love it. I haven't owned any of the others, but I don't think I need anything 'better' than my Yorkie.

What I love about the Yorkville EXM Mobile 8 is you can run it under battery power or you can plug it in. Works either way. Best of both worlds.

    Anyone joining the class action?

Per year. That is steep, imo. Especially for a P/T DJ that only does about 30 events per year on average.

    Anyone joining the class action?

They just called me to renew at $1800. I called my rep and informed her that ain't happening. It was $1400 last year and I thought about quitting then! She's supposed to see what she can do closer to actual renewal time and get back with me. I also told her I read everything I could on the legal...

    Am I nuts?? Passive system

I run two Yorkville E210 passive tops with one LS700P powered sub. Been using this setup for over 12 or so years. I can't imagine needing more for 99% of the gigs I do.

Have you raised your prices in the last year?

I'm going to raise my rate by at least 50% on January 1st. This year has been hard on my health. Both physically and mentally. I'm 57 and I have to realize that I'm not 10 feet tall and bulletproof anymore.

My 2020 weddings have been off the charts successful!

It's a huge selling point for me. I never surprise anyone with it. They know before they hire me that I'm going to do this. Over 500+ weddings and counting and I've only had a couple clients ask me to delete certain (unflattering) pictures, but not not the whole lot.

My 2020 weddings have been off the charts successful!

Mix now, mix later, it's the same amount of work, imo. I rarely have trouble getting people to dance. That's because I'm engaged with them directly. I do not stay behind my booth. Look at my 500+ picture pages. Nearly all of them have lots of people dancing. I did do a Christmas party last year...

My 2020 weddings have been off the charts successful!

It's the exponential spread from larger numbers. If 50 people come down with it, they then expose another 10 people each, that means 500 people could come down with it. If 150 people expose 10 people each, then you have 1,500 people. The idea is to keep super-spreader events to a minimum so as...

My 2020 weddings have been off the charts successful!

You can still premix each show beforehand. And then insert songs as you read the crowd. Unless you don't like to get out from behind the booth and entertain them yourself. ;)

My 2020 weddings have been off the charts successful!

I guess. My clients give me a long list of songs beforehand. I ask for must-haves, nice-to-haves, and do-not-play lists in advance. I spend hours premixing these songs in Virtual DJ a week before the gig. Then I can just focus on mixing only requests the night of. Gives me time to interact with...

My 2020 weddings have been off the charts successful!

Actually, I bring a roadie to help with setup and breakdown. But the 'show' itself is all me. I've always wondered why people ask me this very question. What do you do while songs are playing? Don't you have a minute or two to kill? I use every moment I have to the benefit of the crowd and my...

My 2020 weddings have been off the charts successful!

All I can figure is that people have a lot of pent up energy (and frustration) with 2020 and are ready to let loose. I had my first wedding of 2020 in August. I've done three more weddings since then. All of them have been super high energy and successful, imo. My Oct 3rd wedding was 7-1/2 hours...

Hey folks. It's been a while. Got a question for y'all.

Okay guys. Here's what I did. I offered to use the payment toward any non-Saturday event within the next 12 months - if not already booked. That's the best I can do and she said multiple times that she understands my position. I feel we are still on good terms. I just hate the whole situation...

Hey folks. It's been a while. Got a question for y'all.

There is always the future. I don't like having a 'bad name' amongst the tight-knit wedding community here.

Hey folks. It's been a while. Got a question for y'all.

My contract and payment was from the actual bride, not the planner. The bride asked me to coordinate everything with the planner. So I have no contact info for the bride herself. The date was moved once already. Now she is pregnant and doesn't want to have a 'wedding' at all. It's officially...

Hey folks. It's been a while. Got a question for y'all.

Got a situation. Back in October of last year, I was booked for a wedding on Apr 25th. They paid for everything in full the day they hired me. Due to Covid, I agreed to move it to Nov 7th. I have done this for quite a few others this year as I'm sure everyone has. Well, I reached out to the...

The little Final Cut pro project i was on :)

Good luck. I find it extremely difficult to find legal places to fly. Just about anywhere in a major city would be off limits. Can't fly near airports, schools, government buildings, sports stadiums, etc.. If you use something like Airmap to see where you can legally fly, you'll be disappointed.
