I wonder why they have not made a bigger marketing push, the gear is decent, The rink has all Carvin passive gear probably 5 years old, it's seems to be built well and very reliable, and they have been very helpful with a few tech questions I have contacted them about.
 
For whatever reason, they have decided not to sell through distributors and only go direct .. via catalog/web and with their 1 or 2 stores on the west coast. I agree the stuff is fine.
 
We ran a Carvin rig for many years. Never had an issue. Carvin gear owners used to say you can pay a lot more for a little more amp with other brands.

Most folks know Carvin as a guitar store. They've always sold direct to the consumer. Without dealer markups they can keep their pricing low.

I had the opportunity to use Carvin one night. I did it because I remembered Fred saying the quality of the gear and he wasn't wrong. They were very nice natural sounding cabinets
