Last night we had the honor to do Megan and Jacobs wedding at Vernon Downs, For those who don't know about Vernon they do Harness racing there, have a casino and a beautiful hotel with a very large banquet hall. Vernon Downs is about 45 minutes from my house. The reception was from 5 to 11 we got there around 2:15. They were doing cocktail hour on the 3rd. floor out on the terrace over looking the race track. The only thing I didn't like was where we set up. It was a nice spot but they had a table 10 feet or so right in front of us. Megan and Jacob had about 200 in attendance. In the pictures you may be asking what's the pin spot and 1 up light well let me explain. When we got hired by the B&G I mentioned to them we also did up lighting, but I also told them I need to see the room because I didn't want them to spend money on up lighting if the room just wouldn't work or look good. It was about a month ago we went and looked at the room and I told them I could make that room pop they told me the venue had a package deal with decorating and up lighting so the B&G said they didn't need mine. When we were setting up I noticed one of the staff setting the pin spot on the high riser where the bridal party was to sit and they put 1 up light in the middle. I could not believe this is what they call up lighting. I did do a gobo for them a I brought 2 moving heads. The event went Great pretty much non stop dancing. Where we set up there was a set of doors that went out to the down stairs patio and from there you could also watch the harness racing. Great day, great people, great time, just doesn't get any better than that.
