Sorry if this has been asked, just wondering:

In very general terms, without any specific metion of any particular brand, or in depth specs,

What , if any, is the advantage of a 600 watt dual 15" speaker over a
600 watt single 15" speaker.

These will be run over a Dual 18" sub, so it will be crossed over, so the extra thump of the dual 15" is pointless i guess.

Is there a reason that for Outdoor Live sound I see a lot that will use a Dual 15" over a Dual 18" sub?

Any other insights on this? Thanks!

Basically, more drivers move more air. Additional drivers (or speaker cabinets) will move more air than will additional amp power. A given driver or speaker system can only produce so much SPL.

Single-driver cabinets are typically 8 ohm loads. Dually driver boxes are typically 4 ohm loads. The 4 ohm load allows the user to maximize amp power dissipation.
