The Restaurant Recession has Arrived

Restaurants around here seem pretty busy - but it's also a really robust restaurant market with a lot of foodies. There is a proposed county meals tax on restaurant prepared meals up for vote right now that would represent a 5% increase on restaurants. I'm worried that would really hurt these businesses, especially on the margins that restaurants already operate on.

It's ridiculous how all they can think of to do is create more taxes for people to pay. In D.C. it is a 10% sales tax already. Here in Maryland we have to pay a 9% sales tax on alcohol. 6% on everything else.
