Hi Guys,
Late this week or possibly over the weekend we'll be moving to a new host. It's shared hosting but a little expensive than our current VPS.
The move is for several reasons. Primarily, I haven't been impressed with our current hosts' support, they have botched a couple software installs and expected me to fix it. I pay them to manage this stuff not create more work for me. Secondly, also along with the support angle I just don't trust them to keep everything secure and updated like they should be doing.
The 'new' host is a place I've been using to host other sites for quite a while they're rock solid and support is top notch. Even though it's shared hosting, we'll be running on a premium server that uses SSD storage, LiteSpeed web server (which is blazing fast), and limits the number of accounts on the server to some ridiculously low number to ensure speedy page loads.
A couple of things need to fall into place before I can make the move. Namely setting up Amazon S3 to store and serve our attachments. With the move we'll drop SSL. I may re-enable it down the road but it's been a headache on the mobile side with untrusted certificate problems. I don't know if it's worth the trouble to be honest.
If you have any questions or concerns just holler. Thanks for listening.
