I saw him in 1983 or 1984. My girlfriend was dying to go I took her. Purple rain tour. Was a great concert.
I called my sister to tell her, and she flipped out over the phone on me. She thought I was playing a joke on her at first. ...Once she realized I am serious, she just flipped. Denial, then screaming. ...My sister is NUTS. ...She was a huge Prince Fan and had tickets with a friend to see him in concert in a few months. Unfortunately, she never got to see him in concert.
More Bad News Guys. Female Professional Wrestler CHYNA died yesterday. She was found in her bed in her apartment. I remember her well because I watched WWF religiously back in the late 90s/early 2000s. She dated Triple H for a while back then. She was a MILLIONAIRE, but her career ended after only 3 years or so and she never really got back on her feet with her career. Apparently she turned into a Pill Popper.

I just talked with the bride for Saturday. She wanted to do something for Prince. So we will do Purple Rain and have the uplights go to purple for the song.
What songs are appropriate for a prom. I was thinking 1999, Let's Go Crazy, and Purple Rain.
Gotta be honest, didnt care one bit for him or his music, but still a sad for the music industry losing him.
There's nothing wrong with not liking his music..or him. Dude wrote a heck of a lot of extremely popular music though.
40 top 100 singles is a lot. Several #1 songs. 39 albums I think.
I didn't get some of the stuff. Liked the purple rain album and some other music. Used to play lets go crazy and 1999 a lot when starting out.
Didn't know him personally. Seemed a little strange In Public, like MJ.
I just read a story about an ex- Cleveland Cavaliers player Carlos Boozer. He rented his Beverly Hills mansion to Prince. When he drove by it, prince changed the outside totally. Added purpl waterfalls, had the prince symbol added to a fence, made the library into a hair salon. Knocked down walls. Boozer said he was pissed and felt like kicking his little ass. But prince gave him a million dollars to put everything back the way he wanted.
Like him or not, the guy was an incredibly talented musician. He could play any instrument, and often played every instrument on his albums. There were songs he did that I liked, and there were some I didn't. There were some that were a little naughty and some that were just dirty.[emoji1] Always sad when someone so talented dies too soon.
I remember the first time I heard darling nikki on the album. I was like....woohhh...with a magazine?
A great Chris Rock joke from the 90's. He was talking about welfare. He said, "and it ain't just for black people. Because they have welfare in Minnesota, and there ain't no blacks in Minnesota except Prince and Kirby Puckett. "
Please understand my comment was not in anyway trying to take anything away from him, I agree, he was a very talented person, just for me personally, his music never did it for me if you will.
Yeah... I get it. There's a reason why there are SO many different forms of music. All of us have artists whose music we don't particularly like.[emoji4]
