Hi Again It's Me...

Have you ever attended a local or national DJ event like a chapter meeting, convention, summit or type of a gathering?

If you havent please let me know - If you have please let me know and list the ecents you have attended.

Thank You In Advance

I guess I've been to 3 such gatherings.

1) Peter Merry did a seminar a few years back while still ADJA President around here.
2) I went to a NAME meeting last year at the local DJ shop, idjnow (abracadabra)
3) August of 2005 I was at DJ Times in Atlantic City and may be back this year.

DJ Times was the best because I got to meet a few people I talk to on these boards.

Over the years I have attended a couple of Summits for KJs and a few local networking meetings with area DJs.

It's been many years since I attended any events. The only two I ever went to were back in 1990 and 1991 in the Chicago suburb of Itasca for the DJ and Nightclub Expo. An outfit called Soundz put it on. At that time I was only 2 hrs away and had time and money!

I haven't been to anything due to time and $$$ constraints. Time is a major issue as I don't fly so adding driving time is the factor.:sqembarrassed:

Never been to any looking at Vegas next year though

I've been to some DJ Idea Sharing events in New England and some PDJNE events in New England plus some small scale DJ networking meetings. Also a couple of USODJA chapter meetings.

Why did you ask, Jam?

I have been to a few...
Nightclub and Bar Expo 4-5 times
Attended a small summit in Atlanta a few yrs back
Sat in on an early worth talk
Attended DDK's annual get together a few times

Why?

My first visit to any in 34 yrs of DJing was MBLV07 and I failed to meet up with The Professor. OH well theres always next yr.

Mapdj expo in 2005
Northern wedding dj expo in 2006
adja meetings
adja "Randy Bartlett" seminar in 2006
adja "George Lopez" seminar in 2006
Going to Leadership seminar this month in MN.

MBLV 03, 04, 05, 06, 07
MB Orlando 03, 04
CPS Summit 05, 06
Local DJ Assn chapter meetings for about 5 years.

This might not count, but I was on the show staff for the '93 BSA Natl Jamboree, and NOAC show staff in 90, 92, 94, 96. Anyone who has been in the BSA and has attended one of these events know how complicated these shows are.

I made an appearance at the MBSX show last June in Conn.

That was lots of fun, and I wish I could have stayed for some partying, but time did not permit. I finally got to meet Cap, Charles, Drax, Ryan, Paul G., Mike B., and many others :)

I fully intend to drag my butt down to the CPS Summit at some point. I'm hoping to make it this year, as Jam owes me some shots... :sqwink: :sqlaugh:

Computer DJ Summit '05 & '06

None of the others have my interest.

I've been to about:
5 Mobile Beats
8 DJ Times
2 Night Club & Bar

Locally we had a number of events...
DJ Day at the Diamond 10
Pizza Poker & Promo Night (way to many! LOL)
8 Golden Disc Awards. 3 of which my buddy Phil and I put on and one had one of the very first Randy Bartlett presentations!

My wife and I put on the biggest Tribal BellyDance festival in the world... This year we are having 39 teachers, 41 classes, 38 vendors over 5 days of classes and performances. Last year we had over 1600 dancers on-stage during the event. Yes, bigger and longer than either Mobile Beat or DJ Times!

DJ Expo, Atlantic City - every year since they held them there ( 17 years now, I believe )
Mobile Beat, Las Vegas - 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007
Mobile Beat - Cranwell and Niagara Falls
MAPDJ - Minneapolis
NAME - Nashville
FEA - Orlando
PCDJNE - Providence (twice)
NYSDJA - Syracuse (Mark Ferrell) 2001
WNYMEA - Buffalo

Going to NAME in Atlanta this April and Mobile Beat Camp in Sturbridge, MA in June, then Rick and I are taking Atlantic City by storm this August.
