Does anyone have an idea the best LED Flatpanel lights available for Uplighting I would like some recommendations. Thank You

Blizzard Puck 3 is an excellent light w/ good intensity. Eternal Flatt Part Pro is another light to consider, but in my opinion it is 1/2 the intensity as the Blizzard Puck 3. Both lights can be linked, one to the next, with IEC power cords...and DMX cables. Unfortunately, they are not cheap.

I used the color purple this weekend also..but the purple looked more like pinkish thats the reason I came to the conclusion of buying different lights. Did you use MYDMX to get the color purple?

Actually, for this event, I used the pins (dipswitches) on the back. 8, 9, 10 for static and 2 & 6 (red and blue) for purple. For DMX, I use the Elation DMX Operator Pro and I can get lots of colors with that. I haven't jumped into software DMX yet.

Looking at my pictures, I can see where you might think it has some pink in it - but it definitely is purple (light purple). Playing with the colors might have helped make it a little darker purple - more blue than red (1 & 6 or 2 & 5). The odd numbers don't actually change how much blue or red there is, it changes the intensity of the color.

To be specific:
Red level:
1 = 50% level
2 = 75% level
1 & 2 = 100% level

Green level:
3 = 50% level
4 = 75% level
3 & 4 = 100% level

Blue level:
5 = 50% level
6 = 75% level
5 & 6 = 100% level

I can get a nice purple with my Op Pro board.

If you look at Randy A's icon on this link (post 14) - http://ourdjtalk.com/threads/42865-OK...-yeah-I-m-back - that's the 'purple' we're talking about.

yea it looks nice maybe I was a bit exaggerating but I was just trying to get some opinions on some lights...do you think color palettes are good for uplighting?

Never used them to be honest - but if what you have works just the same? I have used a mini colorstrip (same idea, in strip form). I like the Rain's better.

Hope so - my point there was that if the product you have and this other product give you the same result, why spend more money on the 'same' thing? If it's a step up, great - especially if you will use it. I don't uplight enough to be worried about it. I'd like to have more Rain 64's than I have - but I have yet to see the market that wants uplighting as an extra cost - and not a freebie.

I've seen the Color Pallets used for uplighting and it will work, but they're kind of "old technology". The newer uplights use 10mm or 1watt LED's (the pallets are 5mm I think). If you're going to buy anything now, I'd suggest paying attention to the LED size.

I've been using the Chauvet Slimpar64's and I'm pretty happy with them. You can get almost any color, but still it has its limitations. If you're really concerned with genuine color mixing, then you have to look at RGBA or RGBW or something that has white/amber LED's. The slimpar64 and color pallets are all RGB.

I think the point was that you can get better colors from a RGBW or RGBA fixture versus the RGB fixture.

what do you mean by genuine color mixing??

With standard RGB leds, especially when they're not a tri-led (RGB in one led) it is quite difficult to create any sort of pastel color and even then, other colors such as purples, pinks, and yellows are not reproduced effectively because the lacking of a white or amber led.
