I have always tossed around the idea of having small wireless speakers at the tables for a party or wedding for annoucements or music I played some realy big rooms where they would set the dance floor up on one side of the rrom and tables for conversation on the other. I would always "fly" a speaker to tables kicked on for annoucements and lightly playing the music.

I saw these and thought again wouldn't it be cool to temporaily mount these under the tables? They are pricey but sound really good. http://www.bose.com/controller?url=...s/ptn/soundlink_mobile/index.jsp&src=CMG00115 Just my thoughts.

Watch out Paul. You will get slammed for using Consumer grade gear. :triwink:

But in this case, I would say it IS useless professionally. Bluetooth doesn't work well past 15 - 20 feet. There just NO WAY I would trust it.

Bluetooth be a fickle beast. Stay the hell away, too much chance for possible channel intrusion.

I think I talked to you once on the phone, the conversation went like this

me: Jon, did you hear about the new (insert expensive but cool dj equipment)

jon: CRRRSSHHHH BUZZZZZZZ I CRSSHHHH sandwich BZZZZZZZZ CRRRRSSSHHH hat dance

At $300 a pop, not really feasible to have one at each table. Plus it would be overkill. Plus Plus blue tooth is not really ready for commercial use.

However, I have one, and I love it...for personal use. I have it "attached" to my phone and my ipad, and just run my amazon cloud music through it. works great.

Somebody at another forum was toying with the idea of using it for cocktail or ceremony. While it sounds good, I really can't see it being useful in that application.
