seriously....did you join? I'll pm you.

My dad used to be a radio jock for a number of years....

let me check on him.....He is now in the cabinet business...seriously, you could have a home improvement forum on here for the heck of it and he'd keep you laughing and learning.

Welcome!!!

Thanks for the welcomes.

I began DJing clubs and doing road shows back in 1973. Girrard Turntables, Shure line mixer, Raine EQs, Peavy amps, Peavey SP1 speakers and a set of Voice of the Theatres. The lights were homemade. Carried 500 45s and at least that much in albums. Haul everthing in a Ford Econoline van that had the old shag carpet throughout.

Back then I would get $250 per show or paid $20 per hour to work club gear plus all the beer I could drink...and I drank lots. The shows were like "live" radio DJ stuff.

During the day, I was an announcer at local radio stations. It made for some rough mornings after a long night on DJ work.

Now my son, who's on this forum does DJ work.
