Steps are not a problem. I bring a rock n roller cart, but each piece is no more than 22 lbs. if it needs to go upstairs, no problem.
Did a 350 person wedding upstairs. Elevator was out of order when I got there. Carried everything up. No problem.

Besides that, not a whole lot of things money won't fix.

I will turn down a gig if the people don't seem reasonable. The last one I turned down, the bride wanted me to play the entire night with mash ups of older songs with dance beats so all ages would dance.

Not only that, she wanted me to put them together in the order I think they should be played, and put them on cd, so she could approve each song, and the order.

Not gonna do it.

After I explained to her why i thought it was a bad idea, she said, well I'm the bride and that's what I want. Ok then, buh-bye

Venue/client must be pro-Patriots and pro-Yankees .. or at least Patriot/Yankee tolerant. :) Everything else is minutia.
I hate the Yankees more than I do onions. Every time they loose is a reason to have a big party. A lady where I use to work ask me have I been to Yankee Stadium. I told her I would have only one reason for going there and that is to burn it down!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't recall a time that the Yankees 'loose' at anything - maybe that's why you haven't had any big parties? :dontknow:

According to Bob, that would make you unreasonable and only out to inflate your own ego. I think you made a good call and I would have punted that contract as well.

LOL. I HATE dealing with self centered prospects like that. Hey, at least you found that out BEFORE contracting with her and already processing a deposit to secure the booking. ...This has happened to my sister, and brother after the client booked, and working through that issue is the biggest pain in the arse. I had to hear about it both times lol. ...I haven't had the client that wanted song choices put on a list in order for them to approve yet. ...plus all the songs put on CD for them to boot. I say GTFO of here with that nonsense! It's so stupid when prospects want all that BS.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but I've been to Yankee Stadium a few times. Hard not to appreciate the history, plus they are always playing someone else, so you can root against them

Not to many reasons really. If someone wants a "club style" DJ I can't do that event. And I guess that goes with most "style" DJs. I can play country all night, but I am not a Country DJ, meaning if someone wants a song for a certain style of country dance. If they know the song great, but I know a couple DJs here would specialize in C&W and know all the dances and so on.

Stairs? I once showed up to a hotel where my trussing wouldn't fit in the elevator and I had to carry it up 10 flights, now had I known that I might not have booked that package and it was my fault for not asking if the elevator could handle a 10 piece of trussing rather than just asking if there was an elevator (which I did).

So extreme load ins are out and "style DJing" is out.

But dates, or type of music any of that are fine with me.

BTW, speaking of the beloved Yankees, in Vegas today we had Joe Torre .. manager of multiple world championships with the Yankees (4 in 5 years). Talked about competition, teamwork and stuff .. really cool and excellent speaker.

When was the last time they won a world series? Those bastards could claim all those world series in their earlier days because there was the Yankees and then everybody else. They had the most money of any teams and that got them to get the best players all the time. That's until they made teams have a salary cap so a team couldn't monopolize everything by getting the best players and leaving the rest of the teams to take the scraps that were left.

Glad to see they haven't won one in a while. But the problem is if they don't do it or make it to the playoffs the media wants to come up with a bunch of excuses as to why they didn't make it. Just keep it simple. They suck and keep it moving. No big deal.

Too bad Don Mattingly never got a ring. He was a guaranteed super Hall of famer. I liked him because he kept himself together. He didn't do stupid things to get him locked up or getting strung out on drugs. He's the kind of guy that kids could look up to even now. He's what a role model should be like.

Apparently Derek Jeter was pretty loose in his day and A-Rod had loose lips ;)

.

They still have more money than anyone and there s no real cap in Baseball. There is a top amount allowed and if you go over that you pay a "tax" to MLB
