I turned 5 in May of that year.

I was focused on watching Voltron, He Man, Gi Joe. Care Bears, Speed Racer(re runs), even Princess Shira was something I watched back then. I was probably still watching Punkie Brooster, and of course Fat Albert! The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin, Dennis the Menace, Ghost busters, Inspector Gadget, TRANSFORMERS....I'm sure I'm missing 1 or two, but you can tell I was an AVID Cartoon watcher in the 80s.

That could have been my setup. I was 14 years old and had just one year of DJ experience at that point.

I still have my 45s and their carrying cases. Those were the days.

I had all milk crates and would carry albums, 45's, and cassettes. I still have all my vinyl and most of my cassettes

Those were fun times, I remember the milk crates and how badass we were when we had 300 records LOL!!!

Crap, now I feel old! My first gig was in 1977 when I was 17 and living overseas in Germany as a military brat! A small group of us audio gear-heads in the high school used to sell our souls to arrange getting a big hall (almost like a drill hall), combine all our gear/media and do a big dance every once in awhile. It went on for several years and was a fabulous time. We of course weren't too wrapped up in copyright rules and regs etc. I think I have some pics somewhere....

In 1987, I was two years away from starting in this biz.

After starting with cassette singles, I bought a whole bunch of CD's over 12 years before going digital in 2002..

What I do remember is many venue tables having trouble holding the weight of all those CD's - especially after switching to Univenture sleeves!

Someone is selling their DJ business including their CD collection for $2,500. Some of the stuff is junk. I asked about a few items and he was selling everything all at once. He didn't want to sell in pieces. I used to carry 4 CD books. They were a pain to carry by hand. It's great to not have to carry CD books any more. I can put my portable 2 TB HD in my pocket if I had to which I wouldn't. At one time I was never going to become a computer DJ. I just didn't think I could find the music I needed to play that way. My was I wrong. I love being a computer DJ! I personally love it but hate because of it you more people think they can become a DJ. They just see what we do while using a computer as something that should be real easy. Nothing to it at all. They think they can have fun and make a ton of money as well. LOL. Before the CD thing I carried crates of records. At least 4 at any party I did. Actually if it wasn't for using CD's when I first came back I would have never gotten back into DJing. In 1987 I had 6 years at being a DJ.
