Completely unsolicited, perhaps useless info...

Since we find a lot of venues not allowing enough space for rear projection we always carry the following so we can safely & neatly have front projection without the projector being in the way or an eye-sore...

01) We have a 2'x4' piece of plywood pre-cut and finished so we can mount our projector to it with our ceiling mount. This works with the typical 2x4 suspended ceiling tiles.

02) We have a 2'x2' piece of plywood pre-cut and finished so we can mount our projector to it with our ceiling mount. This works with the 2x2 suspended ceiling tiles we find in some venues.

03) We carry extra light clamps & safety chain so we can hang our projector with our ceiling mount if the venue's ceiling has bars (ie - unfinished high ceiliing venues).

We have run our video cable & projector power cord above suspended ceilings and we carry hooks so we can neatly run the cables tightly along the suspended ceiling in some venues.

Remember to carry the appropriate screws in your gig toolbox for mounting the projector mount to the plywood or the clamp.

Just a few ideas for front projection readiness. We carry all of the above in our trailer -- even though we visit venues prior to production, "things happen" and the venues occasionally change the setup specs. These ideas have saved us many a time.

Good luck!

I hope that you are charging more for all this extra work!

djsarge & Sounds To Go: Thanks for the bump/reminder. I'll try to take some photos either Friday or Saturday at my event(s) & post here soon to share.

This idea has saved us time at countless events.

ahoustondj: Don't worry yourself about what I/we charge. We're doing okay with our various packages/rates. :)
