No Hootie...! :sqerr: :sqeek:

This could explain yer celibacy Patrick... :sqlaugh:

Dude -- I have all that "stuff" too. That's how I test my software. Just because you renamed the folders, don't think they won't find you... MUHAHAHAHA... :)

Patrick,
Aren't you showing folder names, not tags or even actual file names?

does the software you use search for folders, tags, or file names?

Mine just searches tags...unless i need it to search other ways...which I never have. What folder it's in, or the file name doesn't matter one bit.

Patrick,
:sqerr: Yer missing something man.............where is the Rap and Hip Hop? I know you like it.....cause I always see you in da hood! :sqlaugh::sqlaugh::sqlaugh: :rofl::rofl: :sqlaugh::sqlaugh::sqlaugh:

Scott I use a program called TagTuner, I highlight each folder, click "find info" and it automatically searches out the files and puts the tags in them based on the parameters I set. It pulls everything from album art, bit rate of the song, artist(s) and disc name. It also pulls the track number, year, and genre. If I want to manually change it, I can just click on all the artists folders and change them all at once.

Houston,

What's the rap and hip hop you speak of? ;)

see pics attached

this is just a few lists

inside the direcxtory can have a number of CDS
thats why I dont make more directories than I should saves on space

So you make a file for each albumn? You do not put all genres in one file. I want to start ripping my music but I am not sure how to file them.

So you make a file for each albumn? You do not put all genres in one file. I want to start ripping my music but I am not sure how to file them.

Ripping files is not a science it's a preferencial thing.... for example:

I rip all my files to WAV first in one big directory which makes it easier to find them when I want to convert to mp3...

In the process of ripping to WAV Audiograbber attaches a bit of text information to the end of the file much like they do with audio CD's allowing certain players to display track information... well Audiograbber can do that plus attach things like Genre, Year, Artist, Song Title and even where to store a resulting MP3 once converted...

Most follow the convention of sorting by Artist Then Album so if you have Van Halan - OU812 the files would end up here:

C:/Music/Van Halen/OU812/...

But location is not as important as tagging the MP3 properly.... most DJ softwares will read the tag and organize your music accordingly.... days of using the computer directories as a method of organization are pretty much a thing of the past...

Does that make sense?

I LOVE Audiograbber. I'm going through all my CDX's and RPM's and adding any country I didn't rip to go into my Zune.

It's a great program and Rick's tutorial made it all easy to understand. Plus his multi-tag editor in RockIt made the re-naming (re-tagging) all my music to first name first much easier - then Tag & Rename for the file names.
