How many DJ software programs have you purchased, and which do you actually use?

I have looked at a bunch of programs but Otsav is my program of choice. Actually, let me amend that. The OLD version of Otsav is my program of choice. I hate 'Eperance' (the latest version). Maybe if they actually updated the program manual so I could actually look things up and figure things out I might like it a bit more.

I use ots too. I do like the new version but I'm disappointed with the overall lack of updates.

Feel free to ask any questions or go to the ots forum. Can get help there.

Some of the ones I have used are Traktor, PC DJ, Club DJ Pro, Serato (Itch (former) and DJ (current)), VDJ and Winamp. Of them all, Serato has been my favorite.

In my beginning days, I used DiscoXT. It had some really useful timing features, and I liked the fact that it did a remarkable job syncing up with iTunes.

These days, I still use iTunes for playlists, and I use iCloud to store my music. Therefore, I use DeeJay on both my MacBookPro and my iPad. I don't scratch, so I don't need an overly complex piece of software, and Deejay does a great job of keeping all of my tracks synced up very well. Simple, inexpensive, effective, and bullet-proof for me.

I use Traktor... I own a license for Mixmeister, but don't use it. I agree with Handinon; Traktor is unnecessarily complicated, but it came with my first controller, so I got used to it, and now I like it a lot.
I also tried Mixx, which I did not buy (it's free). It did't work on the computer on which I wanted to use it because it was incompatible with the crappy Intel graphics driver that Intel provided with the motherboard.

I use the iTunes DB for music index and playlists too.

I own Numark Cue (older OEM version of VDJ), PCDJ Red Mobile 3, Traktor, VDJ Express, Serato, Serato DJ and RockIt!. Cue, Rockit, PCDJ and Serato have been shelved. I typically use Traktor, but picked up Serato DJ last Fall (just haven't had much of a chance to play with it). VDJ Express is too limited (came with a backup controller). Also have Traktor and DJay2 on the iPads.

I don't scratch, and use basic beat mixing and simple blending .. ANY of the products are sufficient for me. Like Nick, I tend to use iTunes for simple playlist playback, and I use it to make playlists and manage music, so my DJ software has to read that library directly. I also use my iPads as hot backup, so any proprietary crate system won't cut it for me.

I will probably narrow things down between Traktor and Serato DJ and go with one ... unless I get a good deal on VDJ, as I like it's video and karaoke capability (currently I use Just Karaoke 2).

I started out with Automix. Then one day at bestbuy I saw a program that was only $30, so I bought and used it for a couple of years. It was called DJ mix station which was a program VDJ created but sold to another company because it didn't meet their standards. It had more features tha Automix, but there were a few problems with it.

Next, I was about to buy Traktor because VDJ seemed to have issues. But then I realized that I would get a discount since I already purchased Automix. That was about 6 years ago and I've been using VDJ ever since (with very few issues).

I use VDJ and don't see me changing to another software program. I still run VDJ 7. I don't see the need for 4 decks. The 2 are enough for what I do.

Other software I own besides ots is vdj, rocket, pcdj fx, djay for iPad and iPhone. Karasoft for karaoke.

In my opinion, Ots big advantage to me 10 years ago was stability compared to others.

Both vdj and pcdj would crash for me during tests while ots would not.

I don't believe that to be an issue any longer, but I've gotten used to the ots way of things, and have not yet gotten as comfortable with vdj.

I'm a Mac guy all the way, so therefore I use MegaSeg. It's s Mac specific software. I do not mix either. It is very user friendly with a split screen concept for library/playlist display. Many radio stations use it as well. It also features the ability to play videos as well through the output and offers cueing capability.

Anyone try Deckadance? And the Hercules RMX 2 shipped with something called "Juice"
DJUCED seems to be Hercules specific .. looks sort of like Traktor.

If anyone is interested, there is a simple work-around for this graphics problem. Mixxx is now at V2.0 and is pretty dam good considering it's free.
