How NOT to advertise for DJ gigs

You were hoping to find a quality DJ for a cheap price and look what you got. Tisk Tisk shame on you. Not really. Shame on the sucker you find that's desperate for work.

That is rich, considering the source. Just so you know, CL does turn up quality event leads, as well as qualified DJs. Three of my current guys came from CL but, just like any other public advertising medium, it will also turn up completely sub-standard individuals who think that their mad DJ skillz will somehow make up for their complete lack of ability to communicate.

Stick to subjects that you might actually know something, like stolen music or equipment.

Mix there is an employment section on Craigslist, many large companies post ads there looking for help, I have done it and ended up interviewing several well qualified applicants
Were they for your DJ business? I'm not saying you can't find someone of quality there depending on what you're looking for. My experience with DJ companies is that most when they are looking to add a DJ to their team is looking for a DJ willing to work for a small amount of money.

I don't know what the OP pays his DJs that work for him I just know most hardly want to pay said DJ much. The one trick some use is saying we're looking for a DJ just starting out. My guess is they can't come out and tell the truth. I just want to find a DJ willing to work for peanuts. LOL.

I've never hired a DJ for my DJ business I hired people who possess the qualities I desire and I train them to be a DJ, it's not rocket science, I ran a multi-op for 7 years, with as many a 6 guys working for me at a time, I hired two "supposed" DJ"s in that time both were a complete waste of my time and effort, I priced my guys based on my thoughts as to how good they were at specific events,
