It's designed to use for my Christmas display at home, but the principal is the same. Wouldn't it be cool if all the venues had those 100 amp Hubbell connectors
I decided to build a temporary power distribution panel to use for the Christmas lights as I am always tripping breakers, etc. due to the lack of outdoor outlets at my house.
I built the panel on a cart with wheels so I can just wheel it out for the season, then store it away when not needed. It's a 100 amp panel.
I added pilot lights to each circuit and terminated them on the secondary terminals on each of the gfci outlets, so at a glance, you can see if a gfci has tripped, even in the dark.
The bottom four outlets in the center are X10 supersockets so I can use my light control software (Lightorama) w/ a CM11A x10 controller to turn the static parts of the display/dmx lights/etc. on and off
I picked up an industrial 100 amp disconnect for a song on eBay (I paid under $100 and the cheapest I found this setup new was well over $1000) so I can just plug the panel in and go. I am really happy with how this project came out. Should be really nice this year.
