And eBay takes less than 15% total (including PayPal fees) .. I have sold a LOT on eBay over the years (I was a Powerseller at one point).

CL i place a free ad and they come to me. and pay cash.
Ebay auctions of late have been free, but take more time and you need to know more (lots of options). You have to monitor it more and worry abou tyour reputation.
if you're selling a cd, fine, but most everything else needs shipped..so you need a box and packaging, a weight (best before you place the ad...so you get nothing for the time/trouble). Then once it's sold you gotta go ship it (for me if that's the only thing I do it's 45m to an hour's time). And you gotta hope it gets there, and gets there in one piece (normally it does but not always).
And there's a record of the sale (if you care)

I've sold a lost of stuff over the last year or two that I'd not want to bother with ebay - kids bikes, tires, a car. I have some dishes that will sell better on ebay - packaged one up to get a shipping price.. $12 PER PLATE vis USPS cheapest way possible no insurance. Probably better to take them out back and use them for target practice.

eBay isn't as good for bulky items, since shipping is usually a good chunk of the total cost, but I don't want randoms coming to my house personally, and eBay gives me a bigger market for more esoteric items. I had one buyer drive from Ohio to CT to pickup a pair of Yorkville Unity subs he wanted (I listed it as no shipping due to size).

I'm using the k12 k-sub system for my smaller gigs
Currently I have QSC KW181 and KW152 for the bigger gigs and 2 sets of RCF Evox systems for my tiny gigs

I have two sets of RCF Evox 5 for a total of 4 Evox 5 and I will use them for small gigs anything under 250 or under usually I take out my QSC kW system for 500 and up planning on using the QSC k12 Ksubs as 250-400 small foot print events if not I might pick up an Evox 8 and run that with the Evox 5 weddings sound systems are differs than a club setting or homecomings IMO

I love love love my EV ELX112ps. So much so I bought another pair and no longer look in other directions. It is hard to argue with good sound and they sound great even before I DSP them. Contrary to common belief you can employ DSP on a pair of speakers if the capability is not built in like the ELX line. Lots of samples of how they sound (as best as various cameras can record it) can be found here:

Copper Collar DJ and VJ Services

Proof is in the pudding they say!

My DSP = http://www.altomusic.com/media/catalog/product/1/0/10021980.jpg (but yah gots to be able to use it properly). Been thinking of one of these to simplify the process though: http://www.houseofsound.ch/media/ca...33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/D/B/DBX_GoRack_6.jpg

I use DBX for my QSC system and it works great tuning the sound with a mic to the room

I prefer the sound of the ELX112Ps to the K12's but I hate that there's no fan. :(

When I did my testing a few years back, I was down to the K12, the ELX112P and the JBL PRX612. On pre-recorded music, the EVs were the best sounding .. the K12 were the best on vocals and the JBLs the flattest sounding. I went with the JBLs because I was using them for music, live sound, floor monitors, etc. and they were the most versatile.

No issues with the ELX .. except for the fact you can look at them and cause them to flake some finish. GET COVERS IMMEDIATELY.
