Hey guys, it is that time of the year again, I am looking to renew my liability coverage. Anyone have any suggestions? I can't join any DJ groups or use their insurance (I do some stuff that is beyond their scope), but does anyone use an entertainment agency or such?

Mike

The ADJA sponsored Insurance program is very affordable. You do not have to join them to get the insurance. The difference is about $25 between member and non-member.

WEDJ.com also sponsors a very similar insurance product.

Quite honestly, both of these products are good, and no one has yet to beat their low costs.

Problem is the plans they offer don't cover my particular liability (rigging permanent installations).

We went through a local agent so we have someone to direct questions to in person (and stop by or call to get insurance certificates, etc). Kinda nice feeling. Also, we defined quite well what exactly we do when we signed up hoping that in case of an issue we are not written off on some fine print regarding 'out of the scope of' or something. (something we worry about with our not-quite-average system)

If you are near El Campo I used Texas Insurance Services for my Liability, Covered all my installation work labeled me under electrical apparatus. Warning: They want to know exactly your gross figures (to determine your rate), and the number of DJ jobs you do a year, that factors into it, they would not exclude the DJ portion of my business.

Got mine thru a local agent, but it's with Erie Insurance
if they cover DJ's, they may cover anyone!
p.s. less than $250 a year for $ 2 million
