4Minutes has been on the radio here on the West Coast for atleast 2 months now, I have yet to get a request for it.

Wow Sue, I haven't heard it played at all. The first time I heard it was last week and it was an mp3 source from a friend. It never seemed to start. I was always waiting for it to kick up to the next level.

Definately needs a remix. I can not get it to move in the club. Needs a decent intro, a break and an outro. Bpm needs to be moved from 117 to anywhere in the 120's.

I've had customers ask me if I have it and when I ask them what they think of it, they all say they're mixed on it....

My only problem with the song, it was mastered someplace too hot, and technically sounds like hell.

Listened to it this morning on the latest Prime Cuts (200812 - 3/21/08).

Eh...

But for a song that's titled "4 Minutes" - It only lasts 3:09!

:sqerr:

Truth in advertising darnit!!! JK

Will try it in the next couple weeks & see what happens here....

haha.. Absolute irony there, Joe.

The album version runs just over 4 minutes, and is worth the extra minute, IMO.

Today I heard two remixes by Junkie XL that are definitely club cuts, bumping the BPM way up. They're very good, but have little to do with the original. As with most club versions, I don't expect this to appear on radio (except the satellite "dance" stations, like XM81), but I think Sue might like it. I'd say Cam too, but I haven't quite figured him out yet. One week he declares this one a future song of the year, and two weeks later he's ready to hammer nails into the coffin, and forget it was ever released.

Reminds of a DJ on another board who predicted last November that "Break Anotha" by Blake Lewis was going to be a Billboard #1 hit by April 2008. As a program director once told me when I was starting out in radio, "as much as you like the song, it's way too early to call it ''song of the year" when it's only February". He was right.

I did pick this one way too early. But the money put behind the song to get it out there was incredible.

So far, this is a bomb for me. I have been trying it in rotation at the club every night & announcing it.

It clears the floor, I get "boo's" for playing it. Unless I can get a remix, I'm shelfing it. Everyone says they are dissappointed with it because it sounds too much like Timberland's music and they hate Timberlake! They WANT Madonna!!

Sue (especially):

Check out the Junkie XL mix, which I believe will be official. It sounds Stuart Price (Jaques Lu Cont), who, ironically produced her last album and tour, but not this one.

Based on things you've mentioned you like, I believe this would be right up your alley.

This is just starting to get airplay locally (yeah, we're behind the rest of the world here in the land of corn and soybeans) so I should be starting to play this about.....November?:sqerr:

The song to play is.....The Beat Goes On

I started playing this song about a year ago. It will be on the album. The original is featuring Pharrell, sits about 113 BPM. I have found the remix which is BPM 129, remixed by Offer Nissim.....THIS one is packing the floor!
