I like Xristina's Beautiful... not for weddings, but a good song...

Her latest, "Hurt" is in the same mold. And it's a great song with a heart-wrenching theme for those who have lost a loved-one or a close friend.

My List:

Fairly recent slow songs:
"Far Away", Nickelback
"Amazed", Lonestar
"Dance With My Father", Luther Vandross
"I Loved Her First", Heartland

Great Slows:
"Careless Whisper", Wham!
"Your Body's Calling Me", R. Kelly
"From This Moment", Shania Twain
"Have I Told You Lately?", Rod Stewart

Favorite Classics:
"Me & Mrs. Jones", Billy Paul
"At Last", Etta James
"I've Got A Crush (On You)", Sinatra~Streisand

ummmm,,,yeah,, okay...

At Last is my fave classic

That song stays in my head all the time! I truly wish she would have more stuff like that.

"You raise me Up" by Josh Groban is my favorite.

I also like "It's Your Love" By Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. I prefer the acoustic version over the original version.

My wife and I danced to "Love of a Lifetime" by Firehouse. I still throw it out at a wedding sometimes.

Right on. saw them in concert doing it acoustic. Very cool....

Not "beautiful", but a nice song: "You Had Me From Hello" - Kenny Chesney.

I have a Jim Brinkman cd that is all about love.(name escapes me at this moment) For an anniversary dance, yeah I know for married couples but a great song with great lyrics. "After All These Years" followed by "My Heart Belongs To You".

And you cant miss with
You look wonderful tonight

If you meant Jim Brickman Im with ya. His stuff is very elegant but not stuffy or too mushy either.

What i think is the best slow dance is:

Lips Of An Angel/Hinder
It will Pack The Dance Floor Everytime

I am SOOOO sick of this song. Mainstream radio can wreck a song so easy it's not even funny!

Yeah I still play it because it goes over, but that doesn't mean I like it...

Ahhh yes,
The keys to the mansion finally revealed.
We get payed to play music we like and dislike as if we loved each and every song personally.

Yes, I can't stress enough how much I can't stand it when a dj only plays what they personally like. At a high school dance one time I saw an older dj play nothing but 70s and 80s, and then partway through the dance he announced that we would be "going back a few years."

Did I mention that he also STOPPED the music for almost 10 minutes so he could go take a crap?

:sqmad:

My bad, fat fingers and a brain fart all at once. You are corret Sir Jay

I've got 3 of Jim Brickman's CDs....I guess I'm going to have to pull them out now and give them a listen.

Thanks for the reminder.
