My Summer Project

Did you make the case from components or did you have the basic structure made by a case company?

Nice job by the way.

He may be like me Rick. I don't do stairs at all. If I can't roll in and it isn't handicap accesable, I turn the gig down. My main reason is my daughter who works with me and has CP. My second reason is 27 years of Army back, neck and knees, wearing Night Vision devices on my helment and all the running in boots has my body worn.

I've been talking about building one like this. Have the plans and most of the hardware. Sounds like a good winter project for me now that I have seen the one you made. Great Job!!

I could wrestle it up three or four stairs if I had to, but the bottom line is: If the gig is on a high floor, and you don't have an elevator, either you are getting the small system, or I pass the gig along. Truly, I haven't had any issues yet.

Learned a couple of good lessons, such as remember to space the angles sides out from the case sides so the rivets on the top don't hit. Also, casters do NOT come from the factory pre-greased. If anyone is going to take on a project like this, let me know, and I can give a few more pointers.

The best thing I did on this case is to add the external plugs for signal, power and DMX. It is all hidden by the wings of the facade. Here are a few more in-process pics.

Nice work, Nick. Very user friendly.

How high from the floor to the top edge of the cart (lower edge vs. high side where laptop angles)?

Have you determined how much it will weigh loaded? Are those metal or wood rail supports?

Again, excellent work.

I see Cnut can't acknowledge anyone's hard work and effort. He just immediately jumps in to tell you how how much better his set up is.
Anyways, great job on the build, Nick. Looks great!! Thanks for the supplier info too. I've had a project in mind too and the info will come in handy.

Randy, I can't agree any more on your post. Open mind and what works best for each person. Cnut's setup wouldn't be user friendly for me. Looks like something I would have used 25 years ago.

Cnut's set up probably works very well for him. I don't care one way or the other. It's just not an end all like he makes it out to be in how he chooses to word things to throw slight jabs in that others are inferior.

I really don't know where you all get the idea that I was telling the OP that my setup was better than his. I asked him two questions, made an observation (Just as how another person made a comment about difficulty navigating stairs), told him it looked good and showed him what I use. Some of you all seem to take offense to EVERYTHING I have to say. Dam you guys are overly sensitive and reading things that just isn't there. I have asked Dan to remove the post and also this one!

I think the "mines better" was taken from:

I much prefer this configuration, Rack, DJ Station and (Missing from the Pic is an Amp Rack on wheels that goes under the DJ Station ...
