I read the "10" and I personally think it's all redundant. If anybody in the business isn't already adhering to those basic essential guidelines, they should be ashamed of themselves as well as anyone that contracted them.

Frank,

Instead of pointing the finger out, why don't you point it in. Simply rephrase your text to talk about what YOU do and what YOU offer.

IE, instead of "So Here are my top 10 Responsibilities that I think the DJ should make his:" you could say "These are the top 10 responsibilities that I take pride in and provide:"

Please help yourself and the rest will sort themselves out.

Thanks.... No not everyone is doing it.. I usually rent my photo booths on days that I don't have an event, and wow, you'd be surprised how many DJs are still not doing even one of these things.... Not even the basic of just making sure that the bride and groom are in the room when their first dance is announced...

Also this is intended for brides to read and be educated... Not only about how to hire a professional DJ but so they know what I may provide, which IS the actual underlying message, the read between the lines... Which is part of my blog marketing...

I like the title that you suggested... It's very positive... It may be the title of another blog post that I do....

Thanks Hank!

Yes, but you see...that's none of our business. They're out there working just like the rest of us. If they fail or do things "differently". it's on them.

The industry doesn't need self proclaimed "educators" to come to its rescue. It needs professionals that mind their own and please their clients.

If a bride doesn't know something as simple as what the DJ should be doing at her own wedding, she's no better than a DJ that doesn't.

That's just my opinion.

Now imagine how positive the whole website would be with that strategy.

No it's none of my business if they fail, but I can use that experience to make sure it does not happen at my events... Or do you disagree with that?

If a bride doesn't know something as simple as what the DJ should be doing at her own wedding, she's no better than a DJ that doesn't.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your message here... Are you saying that a bride that is not informed, should not get informed? As was my purpose with the article?

Let's just assume, they get to my article for another reason other than trying to get informed about their entertainment, let's just assume she was looking for wedding ideas for her reception... are you saying I don't have a right to educate her, for free, form my experiences? That I don't have a God given and even Country Given right to educate people, if they chose to read my articles? That If I chose to be an educator, to people who are looking to get educated, that the industry does not need that? But which industry? The wedding industry or the DJ industry?

That's just my opinion.

Thanks, I value your opinion.

In my opinion, it's the contrary, I think that if your website is all about ME ME ME ME ME ME, it loses a lot of value... If your website is how you may benefit... (benefits, not ego)... if you are informed about how I think your wedding may improve... then it may be of value to some.... not all... but that's with anything...

Frank first we need to know what it is our clients expect from us. Not every shoe fits every Princess. A blog for brides should find the expectations of the customer and then tell them how we might exceed those expectations (purely suggestions not cut and dried process).

I agree... Every person is different and they don't want to have the same service the last person had..

Could you explain a little more in detail your last comment...

Frank, I like what you said. I agree with it 100%. By saying that it is something any DJ should be doing then you are saying that you are doing that.

I get it.

Have the ones who know what they want provide your blog topics etc. Dont blog what you think they want to hear.

Thanks for the comment Tommy...

Yes... :)

I see, that is exactly the essence of good marketing, get what the customer wants, tell them how you can do it better, and benefit from it... Makes perfect sense...

Well, could you not use that as a tool for getting feedback on what they do want to hear? I mean brides are not really 'telling us' what they want...

In a sense, I am doing the blind marketing, but is there a negative to it? Like do you think I will scare brides away by doing that... or do you think they will just read it, ignore it and go on....

Just some thoughts...

Also, Dr. Stephen R. Covey, I believe, I may be totally wrong on this author's name, but he believes that people want to be told what to do...

In other words, people don't know what to do and are always looking for someone to tell them...

So if you can provide good info, blindly, you can become a winner in your client's minds... That's my philosophy....

I always get the groom telling me, dude's she's read up everything there is to know about you, your blog, your facebook, etc...

So they feel comfortable with me and what I am about, before they even schedule a meeting with me...

Sorry frank but what you do in your area does NOT suit what or how we do it here!!

How To Build Backlinks To Your Blog

While no one knows exactly what the formula for search engine rankings is, we do know that it has a lot to do with how many “votes” you have out there on the web. These votes are counted as backlinks. If you think about it, what do you when you find something you really like and want to share with others? You link to it! That’s why the search engines count these so highly. While you should definitely aim to get to the point where others will link to you, it’s possible to take things into your own hands for now.

Below are some of the top strategies you can use for building backlinks to increase the value of your blog in the eyes of the search engine.

want more well you have to ask me nicely

well do you know this!!

want more well you have to ask me nicely

I think I got my fair share of articles, not to mention getting around 6-20 emails a month asking me to link from my site to theirs and vice versa.

I hold a #2 position for the main keyword in Google "DJ in Houston"

Most other keywords related to DJ and Houston I am either #1 or #2

Maybe in a later date... :)

It's not really about links and traffic.. cuz you can get links and traffic to your site, it's what you do with them after they are there that really counts towards your bottom line.. :)
