I will correct that as "Unreasonable and unfair Negative Press from Naysayers who think that the Event is offensive". Things can get misconstrued and blown out of shape. Incorrect Bad Press is still bad press.

Here's my issue with this. The type of gig it is doesn't bother me. If you feel comfortable with doing such a gig then fine. My issue is that had I posted this thread I would have sorely gotten beaten up for doing this and the reason being is that you said you were collecting the money from the door and possibly a part of the bar. Don't give me that jive about someone else is promoting this party.
If you're looking to collect the money from the door you can't tell me you aren't in some way letting people know about this party. Why wouldn't you since you have a stake in this party? So you're doing what I get beat down for posting about on here. Charging people to come to a party you're having. I really don't have a problem with you doing this. It's just that others would say it would be OK if the people you say that are promoting the party were paying you to DJ the party out right and releasing you from collecting money at the door. I'm simply saying you're doing the same thing I would get chewed out for if I was planning on doing the same thing.
I truly hope the party is a big success and you get to make some nice money from the event. Do you know how they are promoting this party? How many people can this place hold and lastly if you care to how much is it per person for someone to attend this party and what do they get for their money?

Pimp & Hoes are popular here as well. Not really sure how these are everywhere else but in my area they are usually husbands and wives or boyfriends and girlfriends dressing up and having fun like other costume parties but maybe with a little more swagger and naughtiness.

No you shut up. I don't work for free and you're really not working for anyone with this party but yourself. You said you were collecting the money paid at the door and that is how you plan to get paid from this gig. So what are you charging to come to this party? Do you think you'll make enough at this party that it is worth it to do the party? How much is it costing you to have this party?
Now why should someone shut up just because they see things differently then you do. As I stated before I hope the party is a success and you make enough money that it's worth it to you. What counts at the end of the night is if the party is a success in your eyes and you make enough money to justify doing this party.

You're a joke the way you made this post. I know you're busting my chops and it's OK. I wasn't giving him advice. I was just pointing out something he's doing that if I had made the same thread would have been beat up on here for doing such an event charging people to come to an event I was doing.
Oh and by the way I'm willing to bet I would kick your butt at DJing any day rookie! LOL!!!!!!!!!!! When I get finished with a gig 99% of the time people are glad I was the DJ at their event. Can you say that? Oh my bad of course you can't. When you leave doing an event most are pissed off that you did the event and will run and tell all their friends to never ever book you.
