Had to go with "Satisfaction", it's simple, to the point and memorable.

Now, if the "Peter Gunn" theme would have been on there..... :D

Freebird will come in a later poll about guitar solos.

Back in Black came out too late for the time frame I'm looking for.

Funk #49-James Gang

2 opening riffs come to mind that were/are huge: (Beatles)
"Daytripper"
"I feel fine"

Also..

"Who are you"..the Who
"Let's live for today" the Grass roots

Guys, John posted a poll and would like it to be answered. Please don't make it into a debate among different artists and groups. He's conducting a poll for his internet radio station website and would like feedback on the songs he posted.

Please keep the discussions among the given choices. Thanks!

No. We can say other things.

My vote is for "none of the above"

The greatest guitar riff, bar none:

"Stranglehold", Ted Nugent!

How could I forget? I agree.... now if only there was a button! :sqwink:

John,
Maybe you should add Robert White's riff on the Temptations' "My Girl"? I seem to remember it being the second most widely recognized riff (behind Satisfaction) and it is my fave - simple and clean...

Stand By Me from Ben E King. Not classic rock, but instantly recognizable.

I actually like the ending of "I Like to Rock" by April Wine. It combines the riffs from "Satisfaction" and "Day Tripper."

I would hope that we are all voting on the given choices right? I mean it's ok to debate what else could have been added, but vote for the choices there....

I still think Smoke On The Water is da one!!! :)
