By the way....we've added blacklight bubble parties to the list for the kids. My wife did the first one the other day and it was a HUGE success. The kids and the teachers loved it. Now they want these for personal birthday parties too!

We ask that the teachers blackout a room and have the kids wear white shirts etc. Along with that, we're going to sell glow items too.

Thanks Rob! My business plan is on the way! I'm in the club baby! Now I can't wait for the link to the super secret bubble party thread!

Kev, we have to have a special pinky swearing ceremony, before you get in.... and don't worry about having to French kiss Rob Peters before final acceptance... it really wasn't all that bad... :sqerr:

BTW, I did a party today.... maybe my best one ever! But the downside is that this place only has one school, and no referrals to other branches will be coming... And they said that my price was all they could afford.

At least they had a good time.

But, most likely you'll get referral jobs for other events if the job went that well. Word of mouth is an incredible tool!

ok so where has Rick been?

Had a quick email conversation with him last week, I believe this was going to be a busy week for him.

Just got the Bubble King. Has anyone cut that hold down wire to make it easier to hinge the top back?

No, but that is a good idea.

When I'm breaking down, I always have a half roll of paper towels with me to wipe the unit (and my hands) and to jam in there (the entire roll) to hold the top up while I remove the tray. BTW...I bring a large funnel with me and actually save my left over bubble juice.

I am concerned the top may tip back if i cut that wire. Just wondering if anyone had done it. Jamming something in there to hold the top may be a better idea. I thought about the funnel to save the left over "juice" too. That is one flimsy pan though.

That pan should have been made with rubber.... I would have paid $10 more to have had that feature.

It is rather flimsy, but usually not that full after a show. I use a large funnel, the top is like 8+ inches across. Find it in the Automotive section at Walmart.

Chuck...

Don't reveal too much about the swearing in ceremony. We've changed it for the NEWER Bubble Party Providers.

As far as the machines go, I never thought to cut the wire. I just usually am very careful with removing the tray. Usually when I breakdown, I remove the trays from the machine first, pour the leftover juice into the Bubble Juice containers, then angle the machines in an upside down "V" to drain any reside juice and flip the trays over.

While the machines are sitting, I break down the audio equipment, then pack up the machines and depart.

One more tip: I have been using the same machines for 2 years and they still work great. But after the first season, i notices that they cosmetically need a touch up. Here's a tip:

Go to an auto parts store and buy paint stripper (It's an aerosol can), spray primer and black paint. Use the paint stripper on the tops and the chutes to remove all of the old paint. (Follow the directions and wear gloves....this stuff is acid that will burn your skin). Then put on a coat or primer, let it dry, and then paint the machines with black spray paint.

This will make the machines look new and ensure longevity.

Kev, by the looks of it in the pictures on the site, it only puts out about 60% of the bubbles of a bubble king....

One thing to think about - at least I do - You don't want to go in with smaller machines because the beauty of a bubble party IS THE BUBBLES! The more you make, the more the kids love it!

Yea, that thing has only two wand wheels. The Bubble King has 8.

Thanks guys...What about the regular Bubble Blast? Do you think it puts out as many bubbles as the Bubble King? I haven't seen either in person but it looks like AMDJ version just seems a bit more updated and maybe it's built better...I dunno....

Kev, if I was only using one machine, I like the looks of the Bubble Blast. I have never seen it in person. I do prefer 2 bubble kings because I can get the kids to split up instead of crowding one area. Trust me, once you turn the bubble machine on, it is like a powerful magnet to the kids....

Can you imagine 30 kids trying to crowd one machine? :sqerr:

Kevin-

I have used the AMDJ machines before as well as Atari. In terms of shear volume of bubbles, the Chauvet Bubble Kings are hard to beat. You'll find that until you get used to your script, etc. down and are able to expand, that the bubbles are indeed the show, as Papa points out. As I have moved into the older groups, say 8-12 years old, they want even more bubbles.

Welcome to the Super Secret Bubble Society. Now don't give away the handshake are you might have to have an accident! :sqwink:
