Wanna get those good seats that always seem to be gone? Sign up for the band's email list. They just might send you an email for advanced sale tickets.

A couple weeks ago I heard the Blue Man Group was going to be in Saginaw. I went to their site and saw a link to sign up. I figured "What the hell, why not." They sent an email on Friday saying that presale tickets would be available on Monday with the required password.

The payoff.....Row 1 Center Section, Seats 15-16-17.

Many bigger acts (Ozzy and VH, current examples) are going to auctions and VIP 'packages' to get the biggest bucks for the best seats. Many bands (like Aerosmith) offer up prime seats to fan club members but they use fan club seniority as a priority ranking tool. Most often fan club/radio station presale events dont even offer up front seating. Your Blue Man Group example will by no means work as an over all ticket buying option for bigger scale shows these days. The 'good old days' of being first in line to get a good seat to a show are rapidly dying off in favor of the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.

Reminds me of the good old days...

I used to go to Vegas, and you'd get good seats by tipping the Maitre'd. Not anymore.

But, once I was at a ticket counter to see David Copperfield, and was told the show was sold out. I slid a "hundo" on the counter and said "look again".

I got the seats that are next to the steps going up on stage. When David came out to do a closeup effect (where there's a big screen TV on stage and the camera is in the isle) I was literally touching him sitting on the steps, doing his trick.

As they say: "money talks... BS walks".
