Well a good reason to understand social media

Something came up on Instagram about me for their mobile Mondays feature back in February. I had no idea it was posted over a month ago.
Well, I guess you do need to know a little bit about social media. Which, evidently I don’t. I use Facebook and I think I have Twitter and Instagram accounts. But really only use Facebook and LinkedIn. I was searching for something and then I found the post.

Hashtags are irrelevant. Algorithm uses the actual content and keywords in the post. Also Facebook is nonexistent almost to the current bride and that age range. It’s all about instagram and TikTok

Ouch. That's a kick in the teeth for me (in a good way). I've spent all my ad money on FB ads and don't even have a TikTok site setup.

TikTok was at one of the big trade shows in NYC I was at. It’s big business. My kids are on TikTok all the time and they are in the 20 to 40 yr age group. In my networking groups I speak with Social Media experts and they might as well be speaking to me in another language. In some cases, it may be best to get an expert to plan out your marketing campaign, and to see where you should be placing your money based on who you are looking for.
Luckily for the most part my clients are recurring, I know exactly who they are, how to reach them. Otherwise I would have to hire someone to handle social media as my kids were absolutely no help.

Did you get any traction from that bridal show that you did?

Personally, I never had any success with facebook. I stopped bothering with paying them money in 2022.

I DO see your facebook ads from time to time pop up on FB. But, I'm a DJ in Maryland, LOL. I suspect I see your ad come on my screen because of my involvement with you here on ODJT.

I got 10 solid leads. Reached out to all of them via text and got 2 tours. No bookings yet, but I think the one that toured this past weekend is likely. I'm debating on doing more shows.

You still shouldn't see it he is geo locked wrong or maybe is hustling business across the whole USA

That shouldn't happen unless he goes directly to your page and you have the ad posted for some reason. Check your geo settings I had a client with the same problem a while back he swore he had a 20 mile radius and for some reason when I dug in it was 1000 miles
