Take a color copy of your card and show it to people, strangers on the street, at the mall, in a club, but target potential clients, people in the demographic you are trying to reach. Ask them what their first impression is, does it appeal to them, ask them if the message/theme/design is clear, ask them what type of events they would consider you for based on the card, ask them if they would retain such a card, is it ledgeable, does it stand out for them, what type of business do they think it represents.
Research your target market, not your peers. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with asking for advice/feedback from other professionals, just don't base any marketing decision (and spend your money) solely on what we say.
