Another Virtual DJ user, I've been enjoying a lot and started with video. It has all I need and with V7+ you can have 2,4,6,8+ decks. In a regular wedding that may be overkill, but for school's, clubs, etc. you can get very creative.

Hey thanks for the recent posts.. this forum is a great resource. Picking lots of useful info here!

I still say check out traktor, it can seem very intimidating at first and the 30 minute demo is all kinds of crap but it will become the most valuable piece of your gear.

Serato, VDJ, PCDJ, TorX, etc. can only hope to achieve what Traktor can.

but that also all depends on what you are using it for. simple Back to Back tracks Traktor is a bit overkill for sure. but I would still advise you to hold it near the top of your list.

also presently TSDuo (Audio4 DJ Sound Card (2 Decks, useless Headphone Jack), Timecode CDs and Records, 2 Decks and Less Effects) and TSPro (Audio8 DJ Soundcard (4 Decks +Midi), Time Code CDs and Records, Lots of Effects, internal Xone:92 replication, 4 Decks, Recording, etc...) are both Half Price making TSDuo like $250, and TSPro like $400

my Advice lol

Switch just like a persons gear. What works for you might be overkill for some. Many folks dont abuse their gear or expect more from the software than what it provides. I prefer a pretty basic setup for many applications. A full out club type gig would require the extra bells and whistles to amaze your crowd. Most Mobile DJs dont need all the fluff you might. Another thing you mention in a gear thread somewhere else her that you abuse your gear. I never had the notion to do so and I worked clubs allover the world, simple gigs as well and all other levels inbetween in the past 35+ yrs. I have survived all these yrs with avg gear all the way up to my current set and all lived a very pristine maintained and proper life.

Take care of your gear and it'll take care of you ;) in my other hobby I may be hard on my cars at the track, but they get pampered everywhere else and maintenance is key ;)

Crossing threads I guess lol, As Far as abuse I am referring to Transportation, Rigging, De-Rigging, and Generally Hammering on Buttons and Fader not out of the ordinary punishment lol, though re reading that I can see why there might have been some confusion on that.
As far as this thread goes though. I was only making a recommendation. and was inquisitive about Rockit as I said it just seems very limiting, and Harsh on Serato. (Fisher-Price crap!) (I won't apologize for that one lol)
However yes you are right, as I stated in an earlier post My needs are not necessarily that of a Mobile/Wedding DJ, However by getting the software that can do all of the above one would be future-proofing themselves in a way. wouldn't you agree?
