I hope y'all know I'm yankin' your chain...
...But again I have NO experience with the B1. I did extensive testing and comparision of the L1 and 10 inch conventional speakers using 500 watt amp on the conventional speakers, and there were huge deficits with the L1s!
As a side note, I don't like Preset 58...too muddy. I keep it flat at 00 and tweak the EQ as needed.

Me too.
Same here but, only when the bins are all next to each other. When I separate them I use 58 then but, when together I agree it's muddy.
I've never separated them. I usually put them under the Dj skirt / table. Sometimes in front of the table.
Just a point here! I never tested the B1 modules, only the L1, I never had the B1 to play with!

I was told back in the day when using the 58 setting was the Cats Pajamas that it was not a good match to add other non Bose subs to the equation as the settings in the Bose system were not set for other types of subs. Though you could do as such the tone or the benefits of add on Sub might not sound up to its optimal potential some in the know who attempted such had mentioned the ill effect:sqerr:. Something to that effect. Or simply put not recommended. Someone with better memory than me can count in on my comment. LeBlanc?
I think what has to be remembered is that any one's typical system is not going to do every job. My RCF 310A's with 705AS sub won't do a 350 kid middle dance in a field house and I suspect any "wedding" system will not perform as well....I'm not going to do 125 guest wedding in a small venue with 4 tops and 2 LS800p's either.
There are those large jobs where extra gear is going to be needed, whether one runs RCF, JBL, Peavey or Dynacord.
This is not just a Bose issue....
Adam: Most certainly you can add a powered sub to a L1 system.... and yes, definately you would want to run two L1 systems together assumeing both came with 2 bass bins placing the bins together and using Preset 58 will give you maximum bass response which by the way goes much lower than most subs but... and we all knew there'd be a but... these bass bins no matter how low in frequency response they can go do not reproduce the SPL levels (the bass you feel) that standard subs can even though standard subs typically don't go as low....
Where am I going with this.... well if you want to feel the bass then I would add a powered Sub in conjunction with the Bass Bins and the L1 stands have an output that will allow you to take the audio out to a single sub.
With that said.... I'm not so sure it's even necessary to run a Sub with a Dual L1 with Quad B1 setup unless you want or desire chest pounding bass. But, believe me when I say this the B1's run as a group of 4 coupled to one another on Preset 58 is still a lot of bass that your ears will probably enjoy more even if it doesn't rattle your balls.
Was that a fair comparison then?
I'm not looking to start a fight, I've always respected your views of the Bose because they were based on your personal experience. However it seems that review is skewed. I don't believe the L1 is designed to be used without at least a single B1 to give it full range. And if I remember correctly, the L1 system is not 500 watts.
As to the OP...as has already been mentioned, yes it can and has been done. Reach out to those mentioned that have done it.
