I completely agree with Scott; it's tough to define a price because of the varying factors involved. Be open minded to accepting useful criticism and strive to always put your best effort forth. Focus on "you"; and don't get all wrapped up over what someone else is charging, or doing, or not...
To each their own, I guess. I dont do bar, or club, gigs; primarily wedding, anniversary, and private party events. I wouldnt put one out at any event I do. I got a $200.00 tip at a wedding last weekend simply by keeping the B&G happy and smiling.
All we need is space and power. We always bring our own four foot table, with a cover. My rack doesnt take up a lot of space on it, and it leaves me a little "work space" for whatever I need. A two foot wide rack on the venue supplied eight foot table looks absurd, IMO.
RockIt here....tried a couple of others and found them to be a waste of money...I like RockIt, I know how to use, it's stable, and the couple times I've had a question, I find an actual human on the other end of the call, and I don't have to press 1 for Engrish.
I see one routinely in my area who drives an old pickup truck and advertises (on the side in handwritten paint) that he will "trade DJ services for scrap metal".
I also have a "new" DJ in the area who advertises "over 40 years combined experience", uses orange and yellow extension cords, uses a...
We do an alumni weekend every year for a high school which involves two dances, dinners, etc. between Friday night and Sunday morning.
I had an issue with my main computer that runs Rockit 5 on Thursday afternoon; my backup computer has 4 on it but I prefer 5. To make a long story short, I...
But again Mike....the stuff we hear on the radio is what "someone" thinks we should be hearing. I personally find half the stuff on the radio all crap...no matter if it's pop or country. I've heard better stuff in some roadside dives than I hear on country radio; I played in country bands for...
Oh, no argument on the hit count Wes.
But to me, it is still subjective; just like all music, it depends on what "we, me, you, I," like.
Heck, I'm willing to bet this girl sells a pile of singles of that song....and laughs all the way to the bank.
I caught wind of this "worst" song while surfing a while back and gave it a listen. I've got to stick with my opinion that everything being judged "best" and "worst" is still nothing more than a matter of opinion.
This girls' got millions of hits on her video and someone decides it's...
I did mine...the first couple were with some basic templates and the current DJ site has a little flash in it. Happy with what we've got, for what we have tied up in it.
