With this system or a larger system?

Let's say at a typical wedding reception for 150 people.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I have seen DJs that post photos of a simple setup, but are not be feasable at a typical reception. (not all connected)

For me to properly DJ a wedding reception, I need 2 microphones, (wireless, headphones, Etc.

Still haven't told me which system you wanted to see?

The system I have already shown will easily handle 150 with the addition of a bass bin!

So you want to see the headphones?

I always run a minimum of two mics one wireless and one wired on all systems! There were three connected to the system in this Photo!

I have to go to work right now but I will take some gear photos Sunday and let you pick out what you want to see setup!:triwink:

Shouldn't you be hibernating in the North Pole replenishing the tanks and recovering strength for your December 24th flight yorofl:yorofl:yorofl:yorofl:yorofl:yorofl:yorofl:

Here's a picture of my everyday system in action. The laptop is resting on the console's lid. That helps to raise it slightly and the hard surface helps to keep the laptop cool. :)

Steve,

I use a docking station for my laptops, which is a hard surface and also tips the computer forward a little as well!

Bill,

Aren't you going to post pics of your system, we all need to see perfection, then we will know what it should look like!

A good laptop has proper cooling and doesn't require mats, fans, etc. as long as it's not on a soft surface (softer than a thin table cloth) or lap and it's not clogged up with dust. I am so sick of people bringing in ****ty laptops for service that are designed first for looks, and second for function. Get a T-series Lenovo (even SL-series) instead of the $3-400 Acer and these problems could be avoided. I've never once needed to worry about my personal laptop overheating, unless possibly if it was laying on carpet for an extended period of time, etc. Tables should always be fine, even with a tablecloth, and for Pete's sake, those "cooling pads" with the fans are a joke.

Sorry. There have been a lot of this crap coming in and we're supposed to work miracles with it and it's starting to get to me.

:sqmad:

Sorry for the siderant... feel free to ignore.

OK!

Just a point here, I used to use a large folding facade for weddings until I realized it was just something else to carry and setup and another piece that could be knocked over by some drunken guest! This actually happened when a more than tipsy young lady came up to request a song and leaned across the facade got slightly over center and came tumbling into my table colapsing the table and taking everything to the floor with her! I haven't used it since!

Sorry Bill,

I made a mistake here the system I have already Shown will actually handle 10,000 people depending on what amps and speakers I use with it!

I will have to hold off on taking pics today and as it is drizzling rain again!

It would drive me crazy if I had a mixer that didn't fit in my rack, unless it was a big console mixer that was just too big.

Due to Rob's transport van, he needs to stay modular. I personally think he's still running too many wires and needs to find a rack for the top of the table gear pieces and then just run a line or two to the bottom rack.

Actually what I need is a nice rackmounted mixer so that I don't have to use the external one. Thing is I don't like the mic configurations on most of them as usually there is just one XLR and the other is 1/4" And in some cases there is very little by way of sound shapeing that can be done on the rack mounted mixers. And I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to have that.

I've looked an the Denon X500 which is about the most I want to spend on a mixer but don't like the 1/4" for an aux mic

You could easily utilize your existing mixer into the top of a rack without too much effort. They don't make rack ears for that mixer?
