All I can say is they won't wonder here if I will show up or not. Only way I don't show up is for some reason I have a major tragedy like having to go to the hospital and can't leave or my mother dies. Oh my bad. The day my father died I had a gig to do and I did the gig. I say his story sounds fishy. The activities chair said this DJ was supposed to have 2 gigs to do this Saturday. I say this sounds like he found a better paying gig and decided on doing that one.I don't wish it on anyone either but I can't bring myself to feel a bit sorry for the guy. If he was running a business he would have backup or at the very least the ability to rent to cover the gig. He had 7 days to get his s**t together yet he left those folks high and dry
Charging $200 or $100 or one million isn't doing a bit of harm to this business it's fools like him that make us look bad. Everyone in the know in that organization will wonder any time they book any DJ now if they will show up
As for me caught up in what a DJ uses or what they charge. In this case I was just curious as to what equipment failed him that he can't do the gig? Like I said I learned my lesson about having backup equipment. Maybe this DJ will learn the same lesson. Then again one factor I find to be true is that the stuff I use is not cheap crappy equipment. Mine cost me some good dollars. So for backup that would also for me would mean I would want some good stuff to work with as well. My point is you just don't go to a store and they just give stuff away for free. So it depends on what you can afford if you can even afford to buy backup equipment. All I know is they have nothing to fear DJ Macho Man is here.
