I'm with Ricky I haven't used phones since the 90s sometime. I always think when I see a DJ with phones and a laptop it's for appearance and yes I can beatmix and I did it by ear long before the software told be how

You will need headphones if you want to Slip Cue in the middle of certain phrases in a song. One sentence of lyrics consisting of a part from the first song sentence into a part of the second song's sentence. You also need a headphone to splice in certain effects. If one just wants to beatmix from song to song, which is relatively very easy to do, then your software and knowledge of the waveforms can do it without headphones.

Being the fact I play mostly weddings and adult parties I don't do alot aside from mixing song to song but I used to di it back in the club days with records and sometimes headphones

We all have different ways of doing things. If it works for you and your clients are happy fine. I just don't get how some can beat mix without headphones. The software jive to me is for someone that is just lazy and want the software to do the work for them.

I would like to hear a sample of some of the DJ's work who say they beat mix without headphones.

I'd like to hear a sample of you ""beat mixing" with yer headphones.

You have a fancy camera, so I suppose you could upload it to YouTube.

I had some mixes out there before. Not on video though. When I can get it done I'll take care of that. My issue right now is getting prepared to go back to collage. I'm excited and scared.

Collage is interesting -- did you mean college by any chance, or a collage of pictures,,,?

I thought you retired??? Assuming you meant college, I suggest you first take some refresher courses on spelling.

* My apologies to the OP for the contributing to the thread derailment.

I did retire from my day job. I'm taking up learning how to use a computer. My goal is to get a masters degree in Microsoft. I just want it so I don't have to keep asking people what do when I need something done on a computer and it's also about keeping myself busy. I know people that retire and do nothing don't live much longer after that.

I'm not doing this to look for a job. I just want to satisfy me graduating college. Something I didn't do too many years ago.

What's even funnier is that he thinks that a 'degree' will make him smarter with MS products. There are so many 'certified' people that know so little about MS that it's not funny. If he passed, he'd just be another one in the flock.

My best friend did a smart thing. He used to work for AT&T. They were down sizing. They offered a class to get a degree with Microsoft. He took them up on it and he was second in the class. They sown sized and he lost his job. He kept putting in applications. He finally got a job working for UPS. He takes care OF getting the cheapest prices to ship things from UPS among what else he does there. All I want to do is become more literate with computers and keep myself busy. I just don't want to do what I've seen others do when they retire. Stop doing anything and then get real sick because their body is shutting down. Then within 2 to 3 years they die.

I think you mean a Microsoft Certification. Microsoft doesn't offer degrees.
