I agree with you on this, but disagree on the length of a stress test. If the port is going to be overloaded by dual sound cards, you’ll know it immediately, and it will be consistent. Since you can only play two tracks simultaneously, there will never be more data going through the port for any two tracks than there would be the first time. Caching would have no impact because the data going to the sound cards is post-cache. You would need to aggressively test moving the mouse as music is playing.
I agree - but 'problems' may not appear immediately.

Jim, That should not be an issue. Rockit runs on the current version of Windows.
I suggest that you run the installation of Rockit rather than dragging over your old folder files.

I hope that you will be able to benefit from your new machine and not take a hit.

So I can't use the new laptop. I will try to return it this week. Is there a way to revert the new laptop back to the way it was before I set it up?

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to put it back to the configuration as when you got it (factory configuration). This is not new for stores and you're not the 1st or last one to go through this.

Factory recovery is built-in now on most machines. They partition the drive.

Although, if the store has a policy to return the laptop after the box seal has been opened, it won't matter what the configuration is.
