But I will at least try the older laptop with the hub for hits and giggles...
My OCD is telling me to not take a chance on this event and buy a new laptop...
As I have very little time to test the old one, IMHO the only safe option is buying a new laptop.
I agree - but 'problems' may not appear immediately.I agree with you on this, but disagree on the length of a stress test. If the port is going to be overloaded by dual sound cards, you’ll know it immediately, and it will be consistent. Since you can only play two tracks simultaneously, there will never be more data going through the port for any two tracks than there would be the first time. Caching would have no impact because the data going to the sound cards is post-cache. You would need to aggressively test moving the mouse as music is playing.
You can't take it back to the store?Aaaahhh cr*p....cant get my RockIt user and password to work on his new laptop. May HAVE to use the older laptop. Might be selling this brand new one in a few days....
Jim, That should not be an issue. Rockit runs on the current version of Windows.Aaaahhh cr*p....cant get my RockIt user and password to work on his new laptop. May HAVE to use the older laptop. Might be selling this brand new one in a few days....
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to put it back to the configuration as when you got it (factory configuration). This is not new for stores and you're not the 1st or last one to go through this.
Although, if the store has a policy to return the laptop after the box seal has been opened, it won't matter what the configuration is.
Well in that case, I may have an HP 17.3" laptop for sale...used for ONE hour.
Jim... I was going to look for a new laptop for my wife soon. Can you post the details on the one you want to sell?
