I would try a different computer store, mine was unsure about the drivers and some things do work a little different on my system but I'm quite happy. To be honest with you it sounds like your computer guy just did not want to do what he has to do to make this right for you. I'm a huge fan of charge me what you want and I will pay it. )

JTTigger: Yes and no. It will not be practically possible to change the machine to Win 7 so I'm stuck with 10. I've targeted this month (and probably next month) to delve into the guts of 10 as I've had to do with every Windows OS revision.

Step one is to identify every facebook, you tube, and website that deals with Win 10 mods and tweaks. Wish me well. I will master it.

Yes, I'll read through this thread as part of my first steps toward reclaiming sanity and efficiency.

We have some really educated, informed, and talented folks here whose mother's taught them how to play well with others. Kudos to patience, tolerance, and understanding.

Final island (Princess Cays, Bahamas) of our two week Caribbean cruise. I only brought the new laptop, forcing me to deal with Windows 10 exclusively and having virtually no fast internet connection to fall back on Google search.

Windows 10 is cumbersome, scattered, and multi-layered to perform the simplest of functions. It is designed for nincompoops so as not to screw up their machines.

When I get back home Monday, I'm buying a new clean version of Windows 10 Pro and start from scratch.

Cap if you decide to install classic shell MAKE SURE it's from the classic shell website only. I installed it from a third party website and got some free gifts with it. I forget exactly the site but it was close in URL also
