I never cared for Lady Gaga much, other than alot of her music is good for our business, but she was on Howard Stern a couple months ago and I found her performance to be pretty amazing. She's did the song "The Edge of Glory" which the album version is terrible, but this is just her and a piano. She told the story of the song before the performance and she said that her grandfather was dying in a hospice and the family had come back home and her and her dad were sitting at the piano doing shots of tequilla and Gaga made a statement that "Grandpa is on the edge of glory" and then the song kind of came out of her. If she would do a whole album with songs like this I think it'd be pretty incredible. It also makes me mad that she writes a song like this on the piano, but for whatever reason feels she has to "pop" it up for the album.

Quite a few come to mind:

Andy Grammar
Beyonce
Pearl Jam
Radiohead [except for "Creep" which is a bit of a classic!]
Ben Harper [all sounds the same]
Diana Krall [sends me to sleep]
Alicia Keyes
Jay Z [overated as a rapper]
Janis Joplin [especially hate her version of "me & bobby mcgee" it just seems to go on forever at the end]

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Britney Spears...

She sounds like a cartoon character in heat!

Rush, Rod Stewart, most post 90's rock bands with three rythem guitar players all playing the same progression and the only difference between the verse and the chorus is hard hard the hit the strings

not a proponent of Nickelback but I am shocked at how many Canadians much less Americans say the same thing about a dislike for this group. They are one of the most prolific Canadian Bands outside of Celine another one hated, Brian Adams, Shania and on his way to being the biggest Buble.

At least Canada gave us Triumph. :)

Hey Papa I got to see Rik Emmet at a festival a couple yrs back he was with two world renowned Acoustic Guitarists. Oscar Lopez, and Pavlo. They were great. Im not sure if you would enjoy it but check out their album Trifecta.

You say this as if it were a good thing.

Also lots of hip-hop haters I see.

let's see:

Jefferson Airplane
everything pop from 90-93
Michael bolton
Kenny G
Anything the beach boys did later on
Janis Joplin

You can count me among the hip-hop haters (I don't hate it really, just don't like it).

Kenny G and Janis sound awesome on tubes -- feel free to stop on by (with some beer), and I'll fire them up :)

Tiffany did well to back in the 80's too......

Adams and Twain; like them or not, they have talent, as does Celine (I think its her personna that people don't like).

Nickelback just seems to pander to the lowest common denominator of rock muisc. - I really don't get how they got so big? I guess you could ask that about Lil Wayne, Kanye, Jay Z....and Tiffany

Perhaps she puts on a good live show, but I certainly would not put on her album to listen to.

I was not a huge fan until I saw the Monster Ball Tour on HBO
she sings (no lip sync) she dances, she's great with the crowd, costumes, props, big sets...
and she writes her own music, which is probably the main reason I respect her more now

p.s.
I never understood the attraction to Coldplay, Modest Mouse, Taxicab for Cutie...
and those kinds of bands.

Also never got the attraction to metal bands like Metallica
who have a "formula" for a song and never stray very far from the plan
(then they say, it's not about the money, it's about the music)

I see the attraction to rap (for some people)
just never agreed with it

Yeah, but that doesn't cover the WMD that is Bieber, can't they club him like they do to seals??????

I think some people missed the point of this thread. It isn't just bands that you don't like, but bands / artists that you have no clue how ANYBODY could like them.

Taylor Swift:yoohno:

Well, my daughters LOVE her, so I can't agree on that one.... Actually, I like her too. Lots of great lyrics and hooks. Pop country for teens at its best, IMO.
