Do any of you boycott artists? Say an artist said DJs are wannabe rappers or something would you boycott him or her and not play the artists music at your gigs at least for a while? I personally boycott lady gaga and kesha (yes I know it has a $ in it) but if someone requested kesha I might play some.

Not so much artists, but there are certain songs that will not be played on our system.

I no longer play Micheal Jackson joints. If a client requests, during our planning meeting,an MJ song(s), I silently add it to the list of requests and say no more but I no longer choose to voluntarily play music...and iBITD I enjoyed the hell out of Off the Wall and Bad.

I don't, won't, and never played any racist crap from David Allen Coe, and it has been requested.

Gary Glitter is also on the same list as the previously mention molester, but his one hit about as necessary as a poke in the eye.

Wow - DAC, ain't played anything from him in ages. But never played 'that song' ever.

Celine Dion, because she's ugly enough to make a train take a dirt road... yorofl:

Seriously, no. I do my best to separate people's musical talents, from their personalities/day to day behavior. Artists are a quirky bunch by nature I believe, so no reason to deny the audience, based upon my personal views of their weirdness.

Ain't America great!

For the most part, I'm with Shane and DJ J Mac. There are a few I truly won't play - or I'll play as little of as I can.

Me too.... I'll even play James Taylor.... ;)

But actually, there was a point where I wouldn't play The Dixie Chicks, but now that they are irrelevant, I would.
